Researchers perform studies in human volunteers to answer specific questions about mental health. Clinical trials are the fastest and safest way to find treatments that work in people and ways to improve mental health. Some clinical research evaluates how well a treatment works; while some clinical trials test new treatments and others look at ways to improve quality of life. A clinical study might also study factors that affect mental illness.

It is the statute concerning the voluntary and involuntary treatment of seriously mentally ill individuals in Pennsylvania. It applies to all psychiatric hospitalization in the state. Section 201 is that part of the Act relating to voluntary consent for a psychiatric examination and treatment. Anyone 14 years of age or older can consent to inpatient treatment. Admission is based on the determination of a psychiatrist that this level of care is needed.

The authority for Section 302 determinations rests with the County Mental Health Administrator. The Administrator can delegate responsibility to individuals who acts on her or his behalf. The Delegates assure fair, correct, and appropriate administration of the procedure for an involuntary admission. In regard to Section 302(a) they assess reports in deciding to issue a warrant.

It is a civil (non-criminal) proceeding to determine if additional treatment is needed. Hearings are non-adversarial and usually brief. Participants are guided by an attorney on their roles.

The Graston Technique? instruments are used to enhance the clinician's ability to detect adhesions, scar tissue or restrictions in the affected areas. Skilled clinicians use the stainless steel instruments to comb over and "catch" on fibrotic tissue, which immediately identifies the areas of restriction. Our Geiger counters detect x-rays, but may not be accurate in measuring the dose rate. This is because an x-ray is usually a short concentrated burst of radiation. A geiger counter measures by detecting individual ionizing events in its Geiger tube. The events during the X-ray usually occur so fast that the instrument cannot detect all of them, giving a reading that does not reflect the full amount of radiation. For a true dose rate, an ionization chamber would be required.

Yes. The validity and reliability of the current version of the DRDP access was investigated using data collected between 2005 and 2006. The internal consistency reliability estimates (coefficient alpha) were all above .95, indicating excellent reliability.
