Most cats are adopted within about a month of coming to the shelter; the average length of stay for cats at CAT is just over thirty days. However, the length of stay at the shelter for individual cats varies widely: some cats are adopted within a day or two, and others take longer.

Whenever a cat or dog is brought to the Animal Shelter, we hold the animal for between five and ten days, without putting them up for adoption: this gives their owners the chance to reclaim them.
