The list of supplies varies according to your child’s teacher or team. Students should bring pens, pencils and paper for the first day of school. Teachers will inform the students of all other needed supplies. There are programs set up that allow for students to receive free school supplies if necessary. Many of the schools provide supplies to the students on a yearly basis. The following is a list of supplies they provide:

Medications that are needed on a short-term basis, such as antibiotics, can be given at school. When the parent brings the medication to school in a properly labeled bottle, there is a shot term medication form that must be signed giving the nurse permission to administer the med. Medications that needs to be given on a long term basis, whether daily or as needed, will need a Medication Administration Request form signed by the parent and the physician.

Students attending a Broward County Public School for the first time will need to bring the following to his/her assigned school when registering: A Certificate of Immunization (HRS form 680) which is available from a private physician or the Broward County Health Department;

You may purchase them independently or pre-order supplies through our Home and School. Ordering through Home & School is a convenient and easy way to obtain all the necessary supplies. Kingsley's School Store will be open most Wednesday mornings from 7:45 A.M. to 8:15 A.M., thereafter, for your convenience.

Medication must be delivered to the school nurse by an adult with an authorization form completed by the child's physician and parent or guardian. These forms are available in the health office.

If your child is not going to be at school on the first day, notify the school in writing. If the school does not know your plans, a space will only be held for your child for 2 days for an elementary school and 5 days for a secondary school. After that, your childâ??s name will be taken off the school's list.

If your child has been prescribed a medication by his/her doctor that needs to be taken during the school day, please notify the school immediately to fill out the appropriate paperwork. This also pertains to any type of medication that may be prescribed for mild or severe allergic reactions. Your child is NOT permitted to carry prescription drugs on campus. First, please check your child out during the day only when it is absolutely necessary. Believe it or not, we have so much to teach that instruction must go on until the very end of the day. You can help by making appointments after school hours whenever possible and avoid checking out a child simply as a convenience factor. You will be given a laboratory notebook to use for your research assignment, and a three-ring binder. You need pens, pencils, a calculator, and any other school supplies you like using. Assignments (the prospectus, abstract, research paper, etc.) must be submitted as word processed documents, but you do not have to bring a computer with you. You will be able to use the computer labs on campus, and in some instances, in your research area.

Of course you will need ordinary pencils, notebook paper, and the other usual assortment of school supplies. We strongly recommend that you create a learning journal from a spiral or loose-leaf binder. But in any case, you decide what you need, where to get it, and how much to pay. Registration materials are available at the Enrollment & Residency Office. Once your registration is complete, you will be notified of the date and time to report to the school site for testing and/or scheduling of classes.
