The following picture is an example of how you should install your Sterilight system. Please keep in mind that in the picture below all different kinds of options are indicated. This is merely a RECOMMENDATION. What we would like to get across is that the UV must be the very LAST piece of water treatment equipment.

A Sterilight UV system is there to protect your water from pathogenic microorganisms, BUT there is the potential for harmful microorganisms to already be present in the water lines. The water lines then need to be disinfected upon installation of the UV system. A simple way to introduce a disinfectant (chlorine) into the lines is via the filter.

While outages are very rare, sometimes things happen in life that are just beyond anyone's control. Our utility companies try very hard to keep water and electricity flowing for everyone. So if you'd be devastated, if the water was off for a few hours then you may want to bring a jug or two of water.

Due to the amazing natural purity of the source water we do very little to our water. We do run it through a series of membrane filters to filter out any solids that may have come with the water (sediment). The water is then exposed to ultraviolet light and ozone for additional sanitization protection. From there it is piped into our filler and immediately capped. This all occurs very rapidly, on a package like our 20-ounce sport-cap the bottles are running at about 365 bottles per minute.

We do recommend that you install a flow restrictor on your Sterilight system, that way you can be sure that your disinfection is not being compromised.

A Sterilight system requires two water connections and one electrical. Very simple. You can install any of the Sterilight systems either vertically or horizontally HOWEVER there is a right and a wrong way to do this.

A solenoid valve is an electrically-activated mechanical valve that opens and closes when power is applied to it. This kind of valve can be installed and wired into a Sterilight system which is monitored. If the UV intensity were to drop below the recommended level the solenoid would then be activated and automatically shut down the flow of water. This will keep contaminated water from getting through the UV system.

What is turbidity? Turbidity consists of small suspended particles that eventually fall out of solution. If you ever draw a glass of water from a faucet and you see those very small particles floating to the bottom of the glass, that's turbidity. You are more likely to see high levels of turbidity in surface water than in ground water.

Sterilight UV systems require the lamp to be changed on an annual basis (provide they are not installed in a seasonal home). It is suggested that the quartz sleeve be cleaned during the lamp change provided the home is supplied with high quality water (no iron, hardness etc.) otherwise the sleeve should be maintained on a regular basis. Please NOTE: If the Sterilight system you have is monitored (ie. Has a sensor) you must ensure that you clean the sensor eye as well as the quartz sleeve.

This will depend on the model of Sterilight that you have purchased. R-Can sells UV system from 0.5 USGPM to 1,000 USGPM and with a variety of different options.

We install our water coolers using highly reliable food-grade polyethylene tubing, and quick-connect fittings. Every cooler installation is slightly different, but a typical installation involves putting the water filtration system under the sink in the kitchen, then running the filtered water line to the back of the cooler. In addition, we'll installing a "T" in the filtered water line and run it to the coffee machines, and ice makers.

Practically anywhere. It requires an electrical outlet and a level, ventilated location. Access to a water supply is required for the automatic refill units. With the addition of the accessory demand pump, the unit can be placed in a remote, out-of-the-way location and distilled water can be pumped out of the storage tank to the kitchen faucet, refrigerator or any location of your choice. Approximate distances to water sources are as follows. These distances are to the sources nearest to the huts that typically are available throughout the summer. In cases of severe drought, sources could be unavailable. Similarly, in very wet years or early in the summer, additional water sources may be available. Please see the individual hut descriptions in the Huts & Routes section (see main menu above) of this site for more specific information.

Please provide us with an area 6-12 foot wide and 4 feet off the wall to allow us enough room to comfortably set up. We also need at least one 6 or 8 foot table, clothed and skirted 2 hours before our start time. If your engagement is outside, please keep in mind our equipment can be hurt by over exposure to heat or other elements such as rain. Under a tent or other shelter is usually sufficient in these cases.

UV systems are extremely economical to operate. A typical 8 USGPM whole house UV system operates on the same power requirements as a 40 WATT light bulb.

The family where a filter has been installed is responsible for proper use of the filter. If they are problems, then the local water committee will retrain the user on the proper use. The local health official, who maintains health data, also reports incidents of water borne diseases to the head of the local committee and to the user.

Flush the new tank by allowing water to flow through three or four pump cycles. If the taste continues, you should probably have the source water tested.

For the first game, each player rolls one cube (not the Sun Die, please). When measuring for post installation, the measurement given is from the center of one post to the center of the next, NOT the distance between the posts. Measure the exact length of the section before installing the posts.

This answer can vary from place to place. Most drains are either connected to a sanitary sewer system or septic tank. The sanitary sewer carries the wastewater to a treatment plant where it is processed to reduce and/or remove the wastes. After processing, the treated water may be released to the groundwater or surface water. Any place served by septic tanks must observe some special precautions.

Each storm drain goes to the nearest creek outfall. As a result, storm water is not collected into one location where it can be cleaned. Instead, it flows through hundreds of separate pipe systems, each emptying into the nearest creek. Preventing pollution at the source is a much more effective and less costly way to prevent storm water pollution.

The volume of water going over the falls can vary from 5,000 gal/sec in the late fall to 63,500 gal/sec at peak runoff.

Simply wipe the product with a dry cloth and allow the product to dry before use. Avoid having the product completely submerged for an extended period of time.
