Absolutely! The PharmacyTrainer course recognizes the fact that most students have been out of school for a while, and it may have been some time since the student was in a math class. We start off the process with basic math functions that relate to the practice of pharmacy. Fractions, Decimals, and Roman Numerals are taught to give a firm foundation to the more complex math calculations to come. We then progress through necessary skills needed to tackle the most complex pharmacy calculations.

High school level math; square roots, percentages, ratios plus simple arithmetic. Calculators are provided. There is a math review for those who need it.

A number of our classes assume basic math literacy. If you took your last math class a while ago, it is probably worthwhile to brush up before coming to the program. You'll do some of this when you prepare for the GMAT exam. Also, we offer a week-long math review course during the first week of the program. If you have not completed a math course at the basic calculus level, you should try to enroll in a "Math for Business" course at a local college.

There will be some patients who will not use MNS PGMH. It is important to realize the real power of the MNS PGMH: Getting a comprehensive, pertinent medical history without any effort on your part. If the patient and his or her relatives are unable to complete MNS PGMH, consider having an office assistant with little or no medical expertise help the patient. This will still put you way ahead of the game.

We offer several types of Math majors: Business, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Education, and Actuarial Sciences. Students must realize that Math 121, Math 129 and Stat 145 all have the Math prerequisite of Math 120 or a score of 22-24 on ACT or 510-560 on SAT. Choose the course that best fits your course of action for studies. If you are a science, engineering, mathematics or pre-med student you will begin with Math 121 and proceed to the higher math courses. If you think you are going to major in something other than Business, Biology, or the Social Sciences you may choose to take Math 129 or Stat 145.

Yes, we have free tutoring services available in our Math/Science Tutoring Lab and Writing Center. You will find help for your ESL, foreign language, math and science classwork.

The Math Drop-In Tutoring Lab, located in Fayard Hall, Room 211, provides assistance for students enrolled in the following math classes: 155, 155A, 161, 162, 163, 165, 167, 168, 200, 241, and 267. All tutors have had extensive math courses and training. Math computer software and videos are also available to assist students.

Math and English tutors are available for one-on-one tutoring during scheduled hours. Help is available for math homework or test preparation, or with writing assignments from any class. Computers are available for English or math work. Appointments are not necessary, and no cost is involved. Telephone assistance is available at 352-365-3594 for math, 352-365-3554 for English.

The University provides math and writing labs to all students. They are staffed by upper-class students majoring in math and English. The math lab is open on a drop-in basis whereas the writing lab is available both for drop-ins and by appointment. These services are held in different locations on campus and thus a student with a disability must be highly motivated and independent enough to follow through with using these resources.

Yes, Math 105, Finite Math I, and Math 110, College Algebra, are considered as equivalent courses, with credit not granted for completion of both courses. If you need to repeat Math 105 or 110 to earn a higher grade, you may select either course as the repeat since they are viewed as equivalent. If you entered Benedictine University effective the fall 2001 Catalog, you are required to earn a final grade of "C or better" in RHET 101, and RHET 102.

One Math (college and/or high school level) must be taken within five years of enrollment start date. Your choice may be to take a college level math course or a drug calculation course. For those studnets who never took Algebra in high school, an algebra course is required.

You definitely should talk to your academic advisor about your program's requirements. Likely you will need to take the MRT, and the resulting placement may indicate that your skills have dropped significantly, in which case you should meet again with your academic advisor.
