Students have the option of retaking the GRE/MAT or pass a written essay. Students may schedule to write the essay with the Department Secretary. If the essay is not passed, a referral is made to the Gene Elrod Success Center for completion of the writing tutorial program. Upon completion, the essay is rewritten. If passed, and all other application requirements are adequate, the student is unconditionally admitted.

If a student does not receive the minimum score required on the admission test, they have three (3) options: a) Take the test again. Sometimes, if the score is close and the student feels the low score was due to test anxiety or a bad testing day, this option is the easiest and most convenient. However, this is not the option to choose if the deadline for resolving provisional admission status is near. b) Take the other admissions test. Different people will do well on different tests.

GRE: Varies by program. If there is a minimum score required, it would be listed in the catalog under each program's admission requirements. MAT: Only good for the master's in Counseling and doctoral in Nursing; no minimum score has been set.

A student's score on the GRE or MAT is used to determine admission. It is best to take one of these tests prior to submitting application so that the score is considered at the time other application materials are reviewed. Although a student may enroll in classes (maximum of six hours) in conditional status, if the MAT/GRE score does not meet the required score for unconditional admission, the student may not continue.

The UALR School of Social Work does not have a fixed score requirement. In general, a score of 1000 on two sections and 4.5 on the writing sample would be considered competitive for the GRE. A 50th percentile would be considered a competitive score on the MAT. The standardized test is one factor considered as part of your application. You will not be reviewed solely on your ability to take a standardized test. These test scores are most important for students who have low GPAs.

For international students, the TOEFL exam is required and must have a computer based score of 173 or higher,a paper based score of 500 or higher, or an internet based score of 90 or higher.

Generally UB looks for successful completion of the exam. Specific score requirements vary based on program. There is no minimum GRE score. Our incoming students usually score above the 75th percentile in all areas.

long as your undergraduate cumulative GPA is above 2.7, test scores are not necessary. It is mandatory for applicants with a GPA below 2.7 to take either one of the tests.

The weight given to standardized admissions exams varies from program to program and discipline to discipline. If your exam score is not reflective of your academic accomplishments and capabilities, it is often a good idea to ask one of your faculty recommenders to address it in the letter. This can be particularly effective if you have taken advanced courses or done independent study with that professor.

Well, the higher your scores are, the better it is, obviously! A general thumb of rule is a score of 1300/1600, though those with lower scores have also gained admission. I t all depends on the university and the graduate program you are applying to. A score of 1500/1600 may be just sufficient for admission to Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at UCLA. Generally in the US, medical schools are bigger and more well?funded than veterinary schools.

The GRE or MAT may be waived for students who already possess a Masters degree from an accredited U.S. University. Students may take up to 2 courses (6 credits) as a non-matriculated graduate student prior to being formally accepted into the program. These courses will count towards degree requirements as transfer credit if and when you choose to apply to the program provided you receive a grade of "B" or better.

Some programs require test scores and some do not. Some will accept either the GRE or MAT exam scores and some will only accept GRE scores. To make sure you have the correct scores check the requirements for the program that you want to apply to.

The standardized exams constitute only one part of the application, yet they seem to cause the greatest amount of anxiety. The main purpose of the application as a whole is to allow us to predict the likelihood that you will complete the degree. No single element in the application by itself can do that. This is why there are many parts: undergraduate transcripts, narrative statement, work experience, and the standardized exams.

We consider a score of 500 per section and a score of 3.5 on the Analytical Writing to be competitive, although applicants are neither accepted nor denied solely based on GRE scores.

Initially, we advise an international applicant to attach photocopies of his/her score reports with the application, but official reports issued by ETS will be required before full processing of that application will take place. In some instances, the Graduate School will accept certified copies of these reports.

The MAT score is valid for that particular session for most MIs, but for AIMA-CME's PGDM & PGDITM programmes, the score is valid for one year.
