Children five and under ride free and must be able to be carried through the fare gates, accompanied by an adult passenger who has a paid fare. Strollers are permitted. All Monorail stations have accessible elevator service to all levels. There is level boarding from the platform to all trains. The stroller must be placed in the locked position for the duration of the ride. The Monorail system has armed and unarmed security officers posted at every station.

Burning Man takes place on public land managed by the Bureau of Land Management. Assateague Island National Seashore is federally controlled land managed by the National Park Service. Park Rangers are present on the island. Also, Assateague Beach Burns are much smaller than Burning Man; the largest beach burn we've ever had was about 150 people.

You don't have to be in a camp in Burning Man or Nowhere. For the past two years Nowhere has been small enough that the atmosphere feels like one big camp. However, if you want to set up a camp, go for it.

We were camped with Camp I Am over on the west-most side of the Esplanade. We generally did not stray too far from our camp. If you were over on the east side, well.. that might explain it. Another possibility is that you might have been looking for it during the day. For the most part, the spider only went out at sunset and at night. The spider also broke down twice in 2006, and was repaired on the playa both times thanks to the dedicated Mondo Spider Crew of bedlamites.

Although both festivals encourage creative expression and happen in the great outdoors, the similarities really end there. Burning Man is a huge festival, with more then thirty thousand people in attendance. The Fire Tribe Gathering is smaller, with a maximum of 150 people are on-site, including children. At Burning Man, there are hundreds of different kinds of art installations, which aren't really connected to each other, and there is no time when the entire group gets together.

Commercial aviation is not encouraged. The Airport is built for private pilots and their passengers to participate in the event. Answer: Yes, most of us use our awnings during Burning Man but lash them down good. The winds are fierce so a heavy duty awning strap is recommended. If you don't use a strap then it's a good idea to roll it up during a wind storm.

You and about 40,000 other people would trade anything for a tandem ride. Unfortunately, we can't offer it. We've done a few tandems in the past but they are pretty spontaneous and random, and there's no way to plan to get one.

No. Any dominoes that you saw at a previous Burning Man were built by somebody else. Plus, they were probably a lot smaller.

In the world outside of the event, we have prevented entrepreneurs from branding their goods with Burning Man's name, its image and its logo. We have sued and succeeded in stopping the sale of pornographic videos exploiting participants, and we have halted MTV in its tracks.
