Answer: The requirements for MicroStation V8 XM Edition have changed slightly from the requirements for MicroStation V8 2004 Edition. MicroStation V8 XM Edition requires a minimum of 256MB of RAM, although 512MB is recommended. More memory will almost always improve performance, particularly when working with larger models. It is also recommended that you have a graphics card and driver that supports DirectX 9.

Answer: This occurs when the working units are not properly defined. Raster Manager for MicroStation/J reads the Sub Unit label and matches that label with the one from the units.ini file. As an example, you cannot have kilometers as the Master Unit and inches as the Sub Unit. This problem also occurs if "SU" is used as the Sub Unit label, and the Master Unit label is anything other than "MU". For the HMR and TIF formats, "SU" is equal to 1 meter.
