If you were to look at the requirements for SIA cadet pilots in my site, you would notice that they emphasize on English, Science (especially Physics) and Mathematics only in O and A Levels. It does not help if you are good in Aeronautical Engineering but is weak in the three basic subjects I have mentioned. Of course, Aeronautical Engineering or any aviation subjects would be an added advantage. I have read about correcting ones eyesight by laser surgery.
