Your Mustek camera can use either an MMC (Multi Media Card) or SD (Secure Digital). The largest size card you can use is 512MB. Please note that in order to use SD cards with your camera, you will need to make sure that the card is "unlocked" and that your antivirus software in your computer is disabled. Please refer to your SD card user's guide to ensure that the memory card is in the "unlocked" position. A workaround to this would be to use an SD/MMC card reader or use only MMC's.

In order to delete pictures or other files from you DV 4500's memory/memory card, power the camera on and press the 'Playback' mode button (red and green button) on the touch pad. Hitting the 'Menu' button will offer you a few choices for file deletion. You can either 'Delete One', 'Delete All', or 'Format' the memory card.

If you have the DV-3500, your Mustek camera has 32MB of built-in or 'internal' memory. You can use the camera normally even though it says 'no card' on the LCD display. The memory card slot in the camera allows you to increase the amount of memory you have, which will allow you to take more pictures/video. You do not NEED a memory card in order to use the camera. If you have a DV-4000 or DV5SE and your camera did not come with a memory card, please contact Mustek Technical Support at 800.308.

Insert the card into the card slot as shown. (The EVOLT E-500 supports xD-Picture Card media as well as CompactFlash? media.) Push the card gently straight in until it clicks.

Absolutely. You simply need to have the appropriate FireWire extensions installed; the QuickTime FireWire driver is included with QuickTime 4. If you have a Digital Origin FireWire card, you should contact them to determine compatibility with Apple's QuickTime FireWire driver on your computer. Videodelic uses whatever the QuickTime Video Input is available--this includes the video input port of A/V Macs and the FireWire port of recent Macs.

To use your Mustek camera as a webcam, first connect the camera to your computer. Once you have it connected to the computer, press the FUNCTION button to switch the camera between MASS STORAGE mode and PC CAMERA mode. Once you are in PC Camera mode, open the software (e.g. Microsoft NetMeeting, AOL Instant Messenger, etc.) you want to use with the camera and you should be ready to use your DV 4500 as a webcam.

All of today's cameras accept flash memory cards, such as a Memory Stick, CompactFlash card, or SD (Secure Digital) card. Plus, some cameras also come with embedded flash memory that allows you to store a handful of high-resolution photos. Whatever kind of memory a digital camera uses is reusable, meaning you can transfer or delete the images on it, then use it again for picture storage.

The vOICe will not work directly with a mini DV camera (camcorder) and an IEEE-1394 ("i-Link" or "Firewire") card, because it requires Video for Windows compliance. Digital video input via a Firewire card is in general not Video for Windows compliant. Currently there are three alternative ways to use The vOICe with a mini DV camera: Some camcorders offer USB output for a "webcam" mode. When available, use this connection option instead of the Firewire connection.

Mac computers and printers use a variety of memory, which is called "SIMMS" or "DIMMS" or "VRAM". Most of my memory is sold from a Mac Memory Web page. I provide some descriptions there of memory for most of the systems I sell, but not for the printers. For printers you'll probably have to look at Apple's manual or an Apple document. While I try to identify issues and problems when I can, it is up to YOU the customer to determine what memory and how much memory you need.

Unfortunately, the DV 4500 is only compatible with a Macintosh computer as a MASS STORAGE DEVICE. It is not compatible with a Mac for use as a webcam/pc-cam.

Many manufacturers offer proprietary lithium ion battery systems with their cameras. These are very sophisticated batteries with very long life. Sony's Infolithium battery system is perhaps the best example of this technology. In addition to offering very long life, this system can give an accurate measurement of the amount of operating time left on a charge. The negative side of lithium ion battery systems is that these proprietary systems tend to be very expensive.

Make sure you connect to the back of your computer and NOT to a USB hub. Once connected and powered on, choose the "Mass Storage" option on you camera's LCD screen and press 'OK.' Proceed by following these instructions: Click on EDIT and then click on SELECT ALL. (After you click SELECT ALL, you should notice that all of the files are now highlighted). NOTE: DO NOT change the names of the files in the 100Media folder. This will cause the memory card to malfunction.

Please ensure that you are transferring only MP3 files to your camera, as it will not play WMA files. To ensure that your files are true MP3's, right-click on the file in question and select 'Properties.' Your file should read MP3 and not any other format. If you use Windows Media Player, you will need to change the compression mode to MP3 as Media Player uses Microsoft's WMA format by default.

Delete one: this will delete the currently selected picture/video Delete all: this will delete all pictures/video on the camera. Format: this will delete all pictures/video, MP3, and all other data on the memory.

AA rechargeable NiMH batteries, 4 AA rechargeable NiCad batteries, 4 single-use AA alkaline batteries, or 4 single-use AA lithium batteries. To avoid the danger of fire or explosion, do not mix different types of batteries. I've formatted my 16MB CompactFlash card in the camera but the pictures stop advancing after a while.

This camera includes 32MB of internal memory. You can upgrade the capacity by purchasing additional MMC (Multi Media Card) or SD (Secure Digital) memory cards.

You can use Compact Flash cards (Type I and II) and Microdrive. By connecting with the CF Card adapter (MACF-10), xD-Picture Cards can also be used. Basically, you can use any manufacturer's Compact Flash Card in EVOLT E-300.

A1.15 - DV/FireWire devices very often aren't supplied with Video for Windows capable codecs. Since they are higher performance devices, they are intended to be used with more specialist software that doesn't use the Video for Windows mechanism. Later versions of i-Catcher use the WDM video capture system rather than Video for Windows, which should provide an interface to your capture device.

These icons represent the Macro mode of your Mustek camera. Basically, the setting with the icon of two people is for taking pictures 22 inches to infinity. The icon of the flower is for taking close-up pictures within 8 to 22 inches of the camera. You can change modes by moving the dial in front of the lens to either setting.
