Why can I hear clicks in VSamp's output?

VSamp FAQ
Your loop is not set correctly. Samples with loops must not have any jumps between the end of the loop and the beginning. Check that this is not the case with a sample editor. If you are holding down the keyboard for the entire length of the sample and you hear a click at the end of the sample before you have released the key then the sample has a DC offset ie. the waveform does not tail off to zero. In this case edit the sample and fade out the last few samples.

Why can I only hear effects from certain output ports of my multi-output sound card?

Cakewalk - Frequently Asked Questions
There is a workaround for this issue. If you don't have audio tracks assigned to the same output ports as your effects loop, you must have a "dummy" track in Cakewalk assigned to the same port as the effects loop instead. That dummy track must contain an audio event, even if it's a recording of silence. (Back to top)

When I change programs, I hear clicks and pops occasionally. Is my speaker broken?

Alesis FAQ
It is not unusual to hear slight noises when changing programs. This is due to the discontinuous nature of digital audio, and is most likely to occur when the programs are very different. Another application you are using may have configured the serial port of the PC improperly. In particular, the Flow Control must be set to "None." Exit any other application that may be misappropriating the serial port.

How do we hear?

Hearing is a series of events in which the ear converts sound waves into electrical signals and causes nerve impulses to be sent to the brain where they are interpreted as sound. The ear has three main parts: the outer, middle, and inner ear. Sound waves enter through the outer ear and reach the middle ear, where they cause the ear drum to vibrate. The vibrations are transmitted through three tiny bones in the middle ear called the ossicles.

Why when I use the live input do I hear an echo in the output ?

ANWIDA Soft - frequently asked questions
In many sound cards a "monitor" channel is available. This output allows to listen the signal that you are feeding into the sound card. If your sound card has this channel, turn it off, otherwise, once the processor will be activated, you will listen to the dry (un-processed) signal also and you will perceive a delay like effect. We tested recent Sound Blaster cards and everything worked fine.

And when you want to hear SACD, then switch your amplifier to "6CH IN" to make it works! And enjoy SACD sound ;) If your amplifier is not 5.1, but simply stereo, then you can connect the 2 outputs "Mixed Stéréo" (red and white RCA plugs) to your amplifier on a stereo input. In this case you will have to also modify the setup as follows: Setup/General configuration/SACD Priority/2 Channel.

Fortunately, there's nothing wrong with the sound files. It's a common problem that occurs when you play an mp3 file in a web browser before the file has finished loading into the browser. If you find it annoying, you can either wait for the file to load completely or download the sound file to your hard disk and play it using some other mp3 player program (such as iTunes).

The past few days, a MySpace survey has been circulating among my friends. Typical questions include "What was your best month?" and "What will you remember 2006 for?" I filled it out, and I realized that the year didn't pass as quickly as I thought it had. January seems like a long time ago. Things that weren't in my life at the beginning of the year are now part of my daily routine, and things that I thought I couldn't live without I don't even think about anymore.
