Pack cloth is almost always coated on the back with a water resistant coating that provides water resistance as well as structure to the fabric.

The sublimation ink bonds with polyester, but the garment doesn't have to be 100% polyester. We would recommend a high polyester component for best results. Sublimation t-shirts for example are cotton t-shirts with a microweave of polyester in the upper layer of the fabric to enable the inks to bond permanently and vibrantly. Unsaturated polyester resins are normally dissolved in styrene monomer and are able to give films with high-build since the styrene reacts with the polyester base in the presence of a peroxide and a cobalt initiator. This reaction is due to the formation of free radicals which react on c=c bonds. High-build pigmented finishes based on these resins find use in applications such as finishes for kitchen furniture. Pigment selection must take into account reaction with peroxide.

Polyester labels can withstand higher temperatures and also has superior abrasion resistance when compared to polypropylene. Polyester labels are available in White and Silver Gloss finishes. Most polyester labels such as our Fantastock, are UL recognized when used with an approved UL recognized Resin ribbon such as Sony's TR4070 Resin Ribbon.
