We recommend starting with the BEGINNINGS Group for Families and Friends. Family members and friends are the ones who represent the largest percentage of people seeking support in most churches. New Beginnings was first used at St. Mary Church in Wilmington, North Carolina, which was experiencing a downturn in membership, attendance, and giving. After an extensive informational program, initiated by lay people in conjunction with a new pastor, 256 people signed up for the program. New Beginnings 101, 201, 301 was held on three Sundays in Lent. By Pentecost Sunday, nearly 80 people had indicated their interest in specific ministries, both existing and new.

You must be willing to interact closely with N' Him leadership to plan and coordinate the symposium. You must also locate and secure a large, gymnasium-type room that can hold 120 to 200 attendees along with three or more semi-large rooms for smaller workshop sessions. Yes. Prayer is at the core of our ministry. We believe that our church gets its marching orders through the Word and the Spirit as we commune with God in prayer. The church members have access to prayer requests via email and phone. There are special Morning Prayer meetings and monthly church family prayer meetings devoted exclusively to prayer. However all our meetings throughout the week are bathed in prayer and have prayer as a basic â??heart componentâ??.

The BEGINNINGS program easily incorporates into any church in one of two existing formats. The first way is as an addition to the recovery ministry within your church. An example would be if your church is using Celebrate Recovery. On the same night, people would come to the general worship/greeting/announcements and then break into their respective BEGINNINGS group(s). BEGINNINGS would function under the covering of your recovery ministry.

There is a Student Ministries vehicle available for students who need transportation to get to and from their ministry. A student must fill out a Vehicle Request Form and PBU Drivers forms as well as provide us with a copy of a current driver’s license. The Business Services Department will then notify the student if the vehicle is available for them to use and arrange for the keys to be picked up. A small fee of $.25 per mile is paid by the student to use the vehicle.
