Yes. It is possible to take the majority of modules over the Internet. The School of Electronic Engineering has set up the RACeE (Remote Access to Continuing Engineering Education) mechanism, which facilitates this. RACeE enables students to access career relevant high level courses on an individual topic basis. The programme also allows students to prepare for a postgraduate qualification by taking selected postgraduate modules prior to registering for a postgraduate degree.

Yes, of course you can! An online course does have a different set of requirements than a traditional face to face class though. Time management is a key feature of an online course. I will not be there to remind you in class if something is due or if you need to finish a project. You will have a calendar and a course schedule, but I expect that you can complete the work based on the information provided in those (for due dates, etc).

Internet courses are paced with live on-campus courses. These courses meet on a 16-week semester basis or a ten-week quarter basis. While lnternet lectures are available for the entire term, students are strongly encouraged to keep pace with the postings. Exams outside of the Chicago Metropolitan Area are typically administered at Community College Testing Centers. It is the responsibility of the student to locate an acceptable testing center and contact in the local area. Exams within the Chicago Metropolitan Area are typically administered at the Main Campus, Rice Campus, or Moffett Campus. Internet students who are employees at corporate televised viewing sites may have their exam administered at the viewing site.

No. The number of credit hours required for the joint program cannot be reduced. For example, even if a student has a strong background in economics, he or she cannot waive the core MPA course in microeconomics (PAUS 8141). However, students may petition to substitute another course in such a situation, which will keep the number of credit hours the same but result in a different set of core courses.

Yes, if you can demonstrate that the courses you have taken are consistent with the National Policy Board for Educational Administration and the National Council for Accreditation in Teacher Education (NCATE) and if your advisor and the program coordinator approve your request. Per university policy, a maximum of 9 credits may be transferred in and applied to doctoral degrees in education.
