It is a small house-church cult led by Darwin that meets in someone's living room in Lake Hughes, California (a remote community near the desert about an hour north of downtown Los Angeles). In 2002, they changed the name of their sect from "God's Word Fellowship" to "a true church." The lower-case letters and the indefinite pronoun reflect a mock humility. The starting place is a crowd. The goal is to develop the crowd into a church. Then the process is to move each member of the church into becoming ministers, so that every person is doing ministry in line with their gifts. From there the lay ministers are reproduced into other ministries. The crowd is not bad, it’s just that the crowd is not to be an end. You need all of these levels I just mentioned if a church is to be healthy.

No, not at all. Many church schools can, and do, offer the same opportunities for socialization and networking that the support groups offer. But the support groups are not church schools and therefore cannot legally enable you to homeschool. Many people find it necessary to join a church school and a support group, especially if the church school they join does not offer a lot in the way of local support. There are typically two or three key things that need to occur. 1) We will check availability for Vilis to determine if he is available to present for the desired date. 2) Travel considerations are also a factor. You are not required to speak in front of a group but there will be a part of the ceremony in which you walk across the stage to receive your membership pin and shake hands with the officers. Otherwise, you will hear speeches from your current officers, a keynote speaker, and our scholar ambassador. Our purpose is to introduce you to the ideals and values that our club instills. There will be a reception with cake and punch following the ceremony.

If your church is sending a group, then yes you should register with your group as well. We encourage you to register initially with your group so that you are certain to get into the conference.
