The Photographic Library, located in Denver, Colorado, is an archive of still photographs dating from the 1870's and taken by USGS scientists as part of their field studies. The works of pioneer photographers W.H. Jackson, T.H. O'Sullivan, Carleton Watkins, J.K. Hillers, Thomas Moran, A.J. Russell, E.O. Beaman, and William Bell are represented in the collection.

A - There are a some basic job types that are used for different types of applications. NB and A1 are used for new buildings or major alterations that will result in the issuance of a new Certificate of Occupancy. Each of our 50 states has a State Geological Survey. Most State Surveys have some landslide information. A link to your State Survey can be found on our website, http://geohazards.cr.usgs.gov. Also, your City and/or County may have a public works engineer and/or a geologist on staff, who would be best able to answer questions about landslides in your local area.

Not all co-op jobs will be paid positions. Often the industry will dictate whether or not the position is paid or unpaid. Salaries are always left up to the hiring company, and are based on job market demands and skill levels. In some cases, students may not receive a salary, but are given a stipend or have expenses paid (such as travel).
