You will need a Penn State student I.D. to use the library, and activate your access account. The I.D. card also contains your Penn State I.D. number. Student I.D.s are available throughout the semester at the Lares Information Desk, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm. At the beginning of each semester, Student I.D. are also available in the evening on the first three class nights until 7:30 p.m. at the Lares Information Desk

A State ID is a barcoded alpha-numeric tag that is applied at the time the equipment is received. The tag is used to identify SDSU campus inventory and to track the equipment during its life on campus. Typically, the State ID can be found on a yellow sticker placed on durable campus items.

New students may obtain a Cleveland State ID Card (VIKing card). The card is required for a Cleveland State parking permit, in-person library check-out, free admission to Cleveland State athletic events, admittance to the Physical Education building, and discounts at the bookstore. Students can obtain an ID card by going to the ID office on the Cleveland State campus in UC 272B, (216) 875-9888, or by registering at one of the Extended Campuses during the first week of each term.

The PennCard is the University’s official ID card for members of the Penn community. The number on your PennCard is unique and consists of three parts: xxxxxx xxxxxxxx xx. Your Penn ID is the middle 8 digits, and Penn.Pay will only accept the middle 8 digits. Note to Incoming Students: If you have not yet received your Penn-ID, log on to the Penn Portal and then click on PennInTouch. From there, select the PennCard button to obtain your Penn-ID.

Answer: Restrictions in the residence halls have been implemented because the enormous bandwidth consumption, caused by the popularity of music and video sharing. The demand for bandwidth has grown exponentially, so much that it can make it impossible to get e-mail or do academic work over the network. Implementing the download restrictions has reduced the residence hall demand and restored the connection speed to a more reasonable level.

Safety and emergency preparedness are high priorities. Residence halls, classrooms, student centers, major public events, offices and the University Park airport are key priorities year-around. Stephen Abrams is the Emergency Management Coordinator for Penn State University Park Campus and the Centre Region Council of Governments. He jointly oversees efforts of University offices and local government to plan for, respond to, recover from and mitigate local crises.

Occasionally, we do offer trips that are designed especially for families. However, most of the Penn State trips are best suited for adults, especially trips on small expedition vessels or those with long side-trips that include lectures. Small children may be bored on many of our trips as well, since there would most likely be no activities or playtime facilities available for children.

Access Accounts - If you are registered for credit courses and pay a technology fee, you have a Penn State access account and email account. You must activate your accounts at a signature station using your Penn State I.D. Signature stations are located in the Library, Scheduling Office (121 Sutherland), and 335 Woodland Computer Center.

It is not necessary to have an ID card to seek dental treatment. Just as you no longer must present a ticket at an airline check-in counter to confirm your reservation, Delta Dental enrollees do not need an ID card to verify their coverage. When visiting a dentist, simply provide your social security or identification number. The dental office can use that information to verify your eligibility and benefits through Delta Dental's web site or toll-free number.

Answer: Yes. SmileCare will send you an I.D. card when your enrollment application is processed. An I.D. card is not necessary for you to receive services, as your selected dentist will verify your coverage and benefits with SmileCare.

If someone in the Penn State community becomes ill with SARS, University Health Services Staff will work closely with the Pennsylvania Department of Health, the CDC and infectious disease specialists to determine what preventive measures may need to be taken to protect the health of the community. People who have had close contact with someone who has the disease will need to be evaluated and there may be situations in which limited quarantine is the appropriate response.

Our students are Penn State students and are held to the same rigorous standards as Penn State students attending courses on campus. Your transcript will look the same as any other Penn State student's transcript, and your diploma will look the same as any other Penn State student's diploma. There will be no differentiation that you studied online.
