Manning Memorial Chapel is situated across from the University Library, and faces University Hall. The Dr. I. Judson Levy Memorial Bell announces the time of the university worship services. No, but they can be purchased for $2.00 a tape ($1.00 for tape $1.00 for recording). For non-ACU patrons, chapel tapes are $2.50 a tape ($1.00 for tape $1.50 for recording). If you bring your own tape the price is $1.00 less. All prices do not include tax.

Near the end of the chapel session, the teachers recognize 1-3 students from each class for character traits honoring God and their class mates. (Teacher usually try to contact the parent when their child is going to be recognized so they can attend if they want.)

The Sanctuary and side room on the upper floor can seat up to 120 guests, as can the waterfront garden. The Reception Hall on the lower floor can seat up to 64 at tables for a catered meal. For more casual receptions with guests standing, the Hall can accommodate 120 guests with chairs for about 50 around the perimeter. Five Chapel Assistants are students employed by Acadia to assist the chaplain. Among other duties, they conduct one Morning Chapel service a week, in rotation. This year ('05-'06) they are:

The search for human knowledge has been a human quest since the beginning of time. We want to know how the earth began, what the meaning of life involves, and if there is a purpose to our existence. Universities since their beginnings in mediaeval times have ben an important part of this quest. They originated with the Church. some point in our life we ask if there is a Supreme Being associated with the world, its functions, and humanity.

The chapel serves the Acadia University community. Since it is understandable that students, faculty, staff and alumni who are a part of this community might like to be married in the university chapel, we are glad to accommodate their wish as best as possible around the other normal activities which take place there. The Anita Marie Jochem Chapel, 3rd floor Tower Hall, is open for all members of the University of St. Francis community 24 hours a day.

A 35 minute Chapel is conducted once a week for all grades. Students are divided into three groups (elementary, middle, and high school). Occasionally the message will be attuned to a particular event in the world or the school. Additionally, we enjoy singing hymns and praise music during Chapel.

Our facility totals 7500 square feet up and down. The chapel has permanent pew seating for eighty which provides for an intimate gathering but we can add an additional fifty to sixty chairs when needed.

Musical selections for funeral services in the chapel will be coordinated by the officiating chaplain and the chapel organist. Music used for funeral services should normally be religious in nature. Yes. Worship is a vital part of what keeps our community together. Also, we believe chapel is no less important to a studentâ??s development than attending class, which is also expected. Many of our students ignore the requirement, going more often than is necessary!

Calvary Chapel is a non-denominational church that welcomes people from all backgrounds. Pastor Ron held his first Sunday morning service on January 13, 2002. We believe and teach that the Bible is God's Word and should be taken seriously. Chapel is optional for everyone in the PLU community. PLU holds chapel three times a week from 10:30 a.m. until 11a.m. No classes are scheduled during this time and many offices on campus close to allow staff and faculty the opportunity to attend as well.

Children's Chapel is a short worship service, about 20 minutes long, done once a month by some other member of the congregation for the children in the Dodd House. It involves lighting a chalice, sharing joys and concerns, and talking about a topic or reading a story. Usually each year has an overall theme. Past themes have been the Seven UU Principles and Ways We Worship, Living Our Faith and Our Sources.

A - Yes. Each student is required to attend 24 chapels per semester. Twelve of the chapels attended must be Common Chapels held in Brubaker Auditorium; the remainder may be Elective or Alternate chapels. Students record their chapel attendance electronically with student I.D. cards. back to top

Yes! Marriages can be performed in the Healy Chapel, and your marriage preparation can be done on campus as well. You need to contact the Chaplain at least 6 months prior to your proposed wedding date.

Union is a Christian university. We come together each week as a university community to worship and glorify God, to build community among the entire university, and to inform and teach concerning the areas of faith and learning. The chapel experience is the central and focal event of the university--a time when we give public expression to who we are as a community. Yes. Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament has been an important part of our life as a community of faith. The present chapel, intended to be temporary, is inadequate in size, ventilation and sound proofing. The center of the present vestibule on Main Street will be reconfigured to provide a more suitable space.

Chapel is a wonderful experience in which members of the Trevecca community come together to share their faith.
