If you are deferred under an Early Action admission plan, then your application will be reviewed with the Regular applicant pool in the spring. An acceptance remains a possibility, as does a denial. You should continue to work diligently in your classes and send any updated information to the admission office to update your file. If you are denied in Early Action, then you have been denied from that institution. You should proceed with your applications to other universities.

Peer review will take place in June-July over a period of several weeks. The review period is the same for all scientific areas. We cannot accept any additional information after an application has been submitted. Only the information contained in the original application will be reviewed.

Early Admission/Early Assurance programs are intended to remove some of the uncertainties that attend applying to medical school. Each image is checked individually by one of our Approval Administrators for various requirements such as size, file type, quality and copyright. The majority of students not admitted during the Early Action review process will be deferred to the Regular Decision review process. These students will automatically be reconsidered during the Regular Admission evaluation and notified of their decisions in April. These students should forward new grades and test scores as they become available. Approximately 20% of candidates deferred at Early Action are admitted during the Regular Decision process.

Yes, this could happen. The remedy for the denial of the application is to appeal the Chief Executive's decision based on the appeal procedures found in Part 7 (Rules of Procedure for the Appeal of Accreditation Status Decision) of the NACCAS Rules of Practice and Procedure.

Students who have identified Linfield as a top choice institution may take advantage of our Early Action option. This allows them to resolve their college choice early in the senior year.
