Yes. eZcart may be hosted on the TotalyZer Server for the term of your subscription. We can also provide other options. Please contact us for more information. Which subscription period should I get? If you have a simple site, and will host eZcart on your own server, the minimal subscription of 90 days may be right for you. Three months will give you plenty of time to fine tune the program and get any support you need.

Converting standard HTML pages from Paypal to eZcart is simple. Just substitute the URL for eZcart in place of the URL for Paypal in each of the 'add to cart' forms on your web site. Here is an example: substitute http://www.yoursite.com/eZcart/ezcart.php instead of https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr You must also edit each 'add to cart' form to contain the shipping weight of the item. Do this by adding one of the following.

If you want eZcart to keep a copy of your orders on the server, create a directory named 'orders' in the eZcart working directory. example: eZcart/orders This directory must be writable by the eZcart program. Each time an order is accepted, it will be saved in this directory using the order number as a file name.

You may specify an items shipping weight in pounds, ounces, or a combination of both. eZcart will compute fractions for the pounds field but not for ounces. Ounces will be rounded to a whole number before adding to cart weight. All weights are converted to ounces internally. The final shipping weight is calculated by adding the floor packing weight to the total weight in ounces of all items selected.

When you create an account with the TotalyZer web site, you will be given access to a control panel. Using this control panel, you will indicate your choices of color, messages, shipping details and other settings required to create your own custom copy of the program. When the wizard is complete, you may download your copy of eZcart to place on your own server or use the program immediately using TotalyZer as the host.

PHP must be installed on the server which hosts your domain. PHP is normally available on most Unix hosts but may be configured differently from server to server. You can test your server by placing this testing program in the root directory and accessing the program. Be sure your server can also send mail from the eZcart program.

If you have a limited catalog, it may be more convenient to use the cart from it's default location. The totalyzer server is reliable and you will not need as complete an understanding of web server operation since once the cart is generated, it is ready to use. The diagram below illustrates the relation of your cart to your catalog pages when using this method If you wish to customize your cart, you will need to provide a directory with appropriate permissions on your own web server.

For Domestic S&H Charges eZcart computes the weight for the shipment as described above, then adds any minimum (floor) charge you specified when creating the program. eZcart then uses the built-in ZonalyZer zone calculator to determine the 'zone' of the customer's zip code, and locates the correct postal charges. If you do not have a custom version of eZcart, this charge is the published rate for USPS Priority mail service from your zip code to the customer's.

The eZcart program collects only your customer's order. Financial information such as on-line account numbers or credit card information will be collected by Paypal or your payment processor and is never available to the eZcart program. This configuration makes it possible to operate your cart from a normal http server and still offer your customer the reassurance that financial information will be processed by a secure (https) server.

eZcart uses the item number to prevent users from creating multiple lines for the same item. Multiple lines of the same item will create confusion for you and your customer (your customer should increase the order quantity for the item instead) Because eZcart requires this information, it will create a random number if no item number is present. To use eZcart as designed, make sure all your catalog items have a unique item number!

Virtuoso is a Zend engine host, which by implication means that Virtuoso is a deployment server for PHP4 based web applications. Again, no applications are required in order for you to deploy your PHP applications to Virtuoso.
