No. It is very important that your reference information is entered in the manner that EndNote requires. If your referencing conventions require italics, underlining etc. then EndNote will put this in for you when it formats your reference list. We use industry-standard software to count the number of characters in a transcript and calculate the equivalent number of lines. This software measures each keystroke as a character. Therefore, returns will be counted as a character. But, for Bold and Italics,the only keystroke that is counted is the single one necessary to set the Bold/Italic font and another to undo the setting.

We hope to make a prototype of a Bold weight (and a few others, including italic) available soon, but it will only cover basic Latin glyphs at first.
