When I'm working, I like world beat / fusion music with strong percussion to keep me moving.

First of all, launch OMS and check that 'QuickTime Music' is in your studio setup. If not, you'll need to fix that first. Then, double click on the QuickTime Music icon in your OMS setup and make sure it is turned 'on'. Go into your Environment window and create a new Multi-Instrument. Call it QTMI, or something. Yes, here at MCC we make use of a piano, organ and occasionally recorded music. This is not to say that we do not sing a cappella whenever the spirit moves us and there are those of the congregation that frequently worship in a non instrumental church when travelling. While you will read in portions of the New Testament where people sang or were told to sing there is no place in Gods Word where God instructs his people not to use instruments.

Keep in mind that we have over 850 students living in a small area here at Porter. We live in a closer proximity to each other than you may have previously experienced. Acoustic instruments are welcome at Porter-but please leave your drum set or an amplified instrument at home. If you bring a stereo system, please leave the 40" speakers at home and bring headphones. The sound insulation in the residence halls is simply not sufficient to limit the impact of loud music.
