SERV operates licensed community residences for the people who are struggling to cope with a serious disability. These facilities are allowed, by law, in every residential zone in New Jersey. Any restrictions on where mentally ill or developmentally disabled individuals may live are a violation of their rights under the Federal Fair Housing Act as well as the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The residents have the same rights and responsibilities as everyone else in the neighborhood. They may take a walk, go to the local shops and use local public transportation just like anyone else.

The apartments serve as a transition between living within the structured-environent of the house and attaining the eventual goal of independent living. Having more responsibilities and fewer rules, the apartment moms enjoy increased independence while still receiving support from the Maggie's Place community. She must be working and therefore, able to make a monthly "rent" payment of $200. This money is returned as savings when they leave Maggie's Place.

SERV staff will help you set treatment goals when you come into a program. When you have completed the goals, are feeling well and there is an opening, you can move to the apartments.

There are different pathways to starting a Community Group. Cats are welcome in your apartment. However, dogs are not, without prior written consent by the landlord.

No more than 2 persons are allowed in our studios. One bedroom suites can accommodate upto 2 persons and a child. Two-bedroom suites can accommodate upto 4 persons. Baby cribs and folding beds are available at no extra charge. The West End Heritage Suites can accommodate anywhere from 2 to 6 persons depending on availability.

All our apartments are non smoking, and smoking is not permitted inside any of our apartments. Smoking is only permitted on the balconies where available. If people smoke inside the apartment, a deodorising charge of AU$150 will apply.

Article 2.6.3.4. of the Ontario Fire Code reads "Open air burning shall not be permitted unless approved (by the Chief Fire Official), or unless such burning consists of a small confined fire, supervised at all times, and used to cook food on a grill or a barbecue". The Ontario Fire Code currently does not have any restrictions on where the barbecue can be located.

Unless it is an emergency, no landlord can enter an apartment, absent a lease provision or a court order. To reduce mosquito populations around your home and neighborhood, get rid of any standing water that is available for mosquito breeding. Mosquitoes will breed in any puddle or standing water that lasts for more than four days. Here are some simple steps you can take: Dispose of or regularly empty any metal cans, plastic containers, ceramic pots and other water holding containers (including trash cans) on your property.

Populations of the primary WNV mosquito vector species Culex spp. (container breeders), and the risk of infected mosquitoes, can be decreased in an area by reducing the amount of standing water available for mosquito breeding. Dispose of or regularly empty any metal cans, plastic containers, ceramic pots and other water holding containers (including trash cans) on your property. Pay special attention to discarded tires that may have collected on your property.

Thacher does not have a set number of open or closed weekends, as some boarding schools do. Instead, we ask students to commit to our seven-day program and take advantage of the many exciting and dynamic weekend activities we have available.
