All student dorm rooms have network jacks with free Internet and network access. In addition there are two computer labs containing 60 Compaq PCs, one located in Colgate Hall and one located in the Susan Colgate-Cleveland Library/Learning Center. Both computer labs are equipped with an HP8150N high-speed laser printer, a scanner, and are staffed by student monitors. Also, there are 17 computers located in the library for Internet access and research.

There are no student fees for access to campus technology. All UCF residence halls have Ethernet connections. Refer to Campus Housing Internet (CHIP) at: http://www.cstore.ucf.edu. There is a nominal one-time fee to connect a student's residence hall computer to the campus network.

Computing Resources. Guilford College features a fully networked campus with connectivity to academic and administrative buildings and residence halls. All buildings are connected by fiber optic cable to an ATM backbone. Almost all residence hall rooms are provided with 10 Mb/s network, phone and cable TV connections for each resident. Voice mail is available to all students in the residence halls. The campus is served by a T-1 connection to the Internet.

The College has many computing facilities for students, including the Technology Center in the basement of the New Hall residence. The “Tech Center” has 130+ Windows computers and 20+ Macintosh computers available for students to use on a “drop-in” basis between 7:30 AM and 12:30 AM most days. Printers, scanners, and CD burners are also available in this location.

The School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences has a strong emphasis in its programs on the use of appropriate IT skills and resources. Much teaching and learning is supported by various IT packages, both purchased commercially and developed by staff in the school. In addition the university has available general computer pools for student use, some with 24 hour access.

Students that need service who schedule an RNC to come onsite will be notified if there is any onsite fee. Services such as harware installation, software installation, virus removal and harware configuration (not concerning ResNet) are subject to an onsite fee. Most of the main academic buildings have wireless access points. Wireless is also available in residence hall common areas. Yes, although access to the Campus Network from off campus is limited, mostly for reasons of network security. Using most Internet service providers (ISPs), students can connect to their individual file areas on the College server via the file-transfer protocol (FTP). This allows them to upload and download files from an off-campus location. College web sites and e-mail can be accessed through any Internet connection.

Connectivity to the Sac State wireless network is only available if you are within a campus Wireless Zone. A Wireless Zone is defined as an area covered by one or more Wireless Access Points. Signal strength and connections speeds are dependent upon your proximity to the nearest Wireless Access Point and the materials used in the construction of the building you are in or near. Network access is available in a number of pre-wired classrooms, the library, all residence hall rooms, student lounges, and study areas. A number of printers for student use have been conveniently located throughout campus, including the residence halls, Kryzsko Commons, computer labs, and the WSU Library. Local dial-in access to the WSU network is available from Winona and Rochester. To keep costs reasonable, some limitations on printing services may apply.

The university provides each resident student a connection to the campus network. Therefore, a minimum computer configuration is recommended. Yes, students have access to the wireless network that is available in the library and all major academic buildings. We plan to expand the wireless network to the residence halls over two years starting in the summer of 2007.

Although not essential, in appropriate circumstances we would encourage a presentation as it provides a unique opportunity for face-to-face contact and networking which is absent via the Internet medium. It also allows the firm to convey a distinct message about its culture (for example, with MBA alumni participation) that may be more difficult to discern through other media. We pay a lot of attention to students' stated sectors of interest during a given year.

Spring Hill has a number of student organizations on campus. The campus programming board also sponsors several activities (such as Fall Formal and Mardi Gras Ball) each semester. Yes, on-campus jobs are available through Student Employment. Jobs are posted on the website at www.ecsujobs.org. Most positions are for up to 12 hours per week while classes are in session.

If you are interested in working on campus, but do not qualify for work study, you may apply at the Office of Human Resources. There are more than 500 positions open on campus for full-time students. Every effort is made to employ students in areas of study providing a “learn while you earn” situation. On-campus jobs include work in laboratories, libraries, maintenance, offices, switchboard and food service areas.
