Once a graduate student is registered in either the Master of Science degree or Ph.D. degree program in our Faculty, there are two scholarship competitions each year (January to June and July to December) for which all eligible graduate students may apply. Teaching and research assistantships can be applied for through the application provided at the time of the scholarship announcements.

Funded usually from grants and contracts, qualified students receive Research Assistantships (stipend and tuition) in their second and third years. Incoming students are not allowed to become Teaching Assistants. TA's must undergo a training session provided by the dean's office prior to the semester they TA. However, for advanced students (students in their second or third year), a limited number of Teaching Assistantships are available.

Three research assistantships are available to master's students. Master's graduate assistants work about five hour a week and receive a modest stipend. All students are welcome to apply for assistantships, but positions are usually awarded to continuing students. Students should apply for these positions after formal admission to the M.A. program. Six research assistantships are available to doctoral students.

Few research assistantships will likely be available from various faculty members' extramural grants. In general, though, the nature of this professional degree will limit the student support available through Georgia Tech.

Students who have not received significant funding from fellowships or awards are eligible for a paid assistantship. These amounts are modest and depend on the number of students eligible for this funding during a given year. Assistantships provide training and experience in teaching and a variety of art-related practices. Students who are not eligible for assistantship funding may elect to volunteer for an unpaid position.

Many graduate students serve in one of these two positions for all or most of their graduate student career. These positions offer professional development, research opportunities and significant financial rewards. In addition to a monthly salary, these positions provide a full or partial fee waiver. the current time, we are able to offer most qualified graduate students a TA position during the first year of study.

Yes. Limited TA and RA assignments are available, especially for PhD students. For MA and MBA students these are determined after you arrive at Brandeis, so you cannot count on receiving one in calculating your budget. There are also on-campus employment opportunities in various offices of the University.

Draper offers a few tuition remission grants at the beginning of each semester; these provide tuition relief for one class. All students, new and continuing, are considered for these grants at the beginning of each semester, but they are competitively awarded and we can not guarantee that you will receive one. Teaching and research assistantships are not available.

The University offers a limited number of graduate fellowships and assistantships on a merit basis to qualified matriculated graduate students. These awards and positions are awarded and administered by the academic departments. Inquiries regarding the availability and qualification for such awards should be directed to your academic department of interest.

Teaching Assistantships and the hiring of Student Research Assistants are under the jurisdiction of the individual departments. To obtain information, you should contact the department directly.

Graduate Student Instructors (GSI) and Graduate Student Researchers (GSR) are selected by the admissions committee for the program to which they have applied. Applicants are notified in their admission letters if they have been selected for an assistantship.

No. There are no grants, scholarships or assistantships available to EMIL participants. If you require financial assistance, you may be eligible for financial aid and should refer to Financial Aid for more information on these programs.

Departmental scholarships and assistantships are available through individual Graduate Departments. Recipients are selected by their Graduate Departments. The system here for GAs and teaching assistants is different to the USA and is not how things usually work. There may well be opportunities for doing some teaching as you progress to the PhD level but we would not normally offer opportunities for a masters student to do any teaching on a masters level course. As we do most of the teaching ourselves there is not normally a need for adjunct faculty or paid teaching.

Applicants must complete and submit the Fellowship Assistantship form by December 15 but, at the latest, by mid-April. According to union regulations, results are made available mid-May.

The IISGP currently has 2.5 teaching assistantships specifically assigned to graduate students registered in the program. Home departments are also expected to make opportunities available to students in the IISPG for teaching assistantships as for students registered in regular departmental graduate programs. But some are more accommodating to interdisciplinary students than others.

Admissions decisions for masters degrees are made by committees of the faculty. Because each faculty member weighs applications somewhat differently, it is difficult to provide hard and fast rules. However, all applications are reviewed individually, and no single factor determines whether an application is accepted. Admission decisions are generally based on judgments about three criteria:

Faculty often hire students to work on research projects or help with teaching courses. Graduate Research Assistantships are sometimes available and include paid tuition and a stipend. You need to find faculty or research associates who are working on projects to which you can contribute your skills. You can check their bio information on the website. Contact the faculty and see if they are looking for help.

Graduate Teaching and Research Assistantships are available. Funded graduate students have the opportunity to teach a broad range of communication courses, assist with the Forensics team or Interpreters Theatre, and/or serve as Research Assistants for faculty. All students receiving Graduate Assistantships automatically receive a waiver of out-of-state tuition fees.

Kentucky certification is based upon the completion of a 4-year teacher preparation program that includes student teaching and testing when applicable. Kentucky requires a recommendation from the certification official at the college/university (where the applicant completed his/her initial teacher preparation program, student teaching) regarding the specific teacher preparation program completed, grade level, and at what degree level and completion date of the program.

All of our graduate students who receive a ten (10) hour Teaching Assistantship or Production Assistantship at the 25% graduate appointment rate are offered approximately $4552.00 annually. Some students are also eligible for a tuition remission of $1360.93/semester or $2721.86/annually. The package of a graduate appointment plus a tuition remission equals approximately $3637.72/semester, $7275.44/annually.

We do not offer Teaching Assistantships for first-year students. However, students qualified for the Tutor Training and Practice Teaching classes are required to teach in individual or classroom situations, and most of these positions offer at least some compensation. In addition, work-aide positions may be available in the department and around the campus.

No, we only offer teaching assistantships to students within our department. You would need to be a student in the Mathematical Sciences Department to be eligible for an assistantship.

A limited number of merit-based graduate administrative assistantships are available from the Division of Enrollments; they are awarded at the time of admission to qualified students. In general, graduate administrative assistantships, available only to students enrolled in the master's degree program, include a stipend (by the hour or the semester) as well as a scholarship that covers a percentage of tuition.

A27) Names of qualified applicants are automatically submitted for University and College of Architecture Fellowships. Assistantships (teaching and research) within the program and the lab are arranged with individual faculty members depending on availability of funds and the qualifications of the applicant. Available assistantships are usually awarded to second year students.
