Why can't I have my Ning ID be the URL of my social network?
Ning - Frequently Asked QuestionsWhen you create your own social network on Ning, you choose a name and a unique web address for your network. You can change the name of your social network as often as you like. However, once you choose the URL, for security and simplicity, we don't let you change it. That URL also can't be your Ning ID, since we reserve your Ning ID's URL for Ning-wide messaging and friend requests, as well as for other features that we plan to offer in the future.
