Phlebitis, thrombosis (blood clots), spontaneous bleeding and skin ulcers are complications of varicose vein disease. Also, if varicose veins are left untreated, smaller abnormal veins may increase in number and are associated with worsening symptoms.

If left untreated, Graves’ Disease can lead to heart problems and problems in pregnancy, and an increased risk of a miscarriage. Severe, untreated Graves’ Disease can be fatal. Thyrotoxic storm is a rare life-threatening condition that develops in cases of untreated hyperthyroidism. It is usually brought on by an acute stress, such as trauma surgery or infection.

Like other hernias, a ventral hernia may become worse if left untreated. And ventral hernias can be dangerous, because abdominal structures, like the intestines, can become stuck or twisted in the hernia, leading to a more complex and riskier operation. People without visible varicose veins can still have symptoms.

I have been having pain/burning behind my bottom front teeth for a year now, the teeth themselves don't hurt, but the whole area behind them does. The problem is much worse when I talk a lot, which I do every day for my job. I visited an ENT about this and it was basically dismissed as nothing. The pain continues and no relief with advil etc...can you advise? thanks

Varicose vein surgery is low risk but complications can occasionally occur. Bruising of the leg is expected after this type of surgery is and occasionally a small amount of bleeding can occur immediately after the operation.
