Students can major in mathematics and earn Pennsylvania Secondary School Teaching Certification in mathematics by completing the requirements set by the Education Program. Interested students should consult early with an advisor from the Education Program for appropriate Education courses that culminate with the Practice Teaching experience during the second semester of the senior year. One of the most important things that you should do in high school to get yourself ready for college is to develop good study habits. College is much less structured than high school and students must discipline themselves for study. Your college schedule will not include “study halls”, so it is important to discover your strengths (and weaknesses) and arrange your free time to include the right amount of study time.

It is recommended that students complete calculus, statistics, and 3-4 units/years of a single foreign language in high school. Students completing the Advanced Placement (AP) Calculus and Statistics exams may receive college credit at UW-Madison. Other AP tests may also satisfy overall degree requirements.

In order to prepare for college studies, take advantage of both math and science elective courses while in high school. Courses like Chemistry, Physics, Algebra II and Calculus, will also help your performance on the ACT. Engineering admission is very competitive. We encourage you to prepare yourself beyond the basic requirements for UC admissions. If you are really interested in the field you need to take all the science courses you can in high school and all the math you need for entry into a science program in college. You would also need to identify a college that has a Forensic Science, Criminalistics, or other physical or biological science program.

Upon completion of your MAED, you have twelve months to become certified in the state you wish to teach in, locate a position in a Project REACH approved high need school, and become a teacher of record teaching in the area which you were prepared by University of Phoenix. You are obligated to notify the Project REACH staff of your teaching position and will be required to submit necessary documentation.

Science and mathematics courses will be the best preparation for students who are interested in the forensic science major. Biology, physics, chemistry, anatomy, and physiology courses provide a strong foundation for students interested in this course of study. Algebra, advanced algebra, trigonometry, statistics, and pre-calculus also provide excellent preparation. When available, advanced placement (AP) science and mathematics courses, and calculus courses are also strongly recommended.

We encourage you to obtain first hand experience in marine biology and research by doing activities such as: science fair projects, visiting the ocean, enrolling in summer marine studies camps, volunteering at an aquarium, or even learning marine skills such as small boat handling or scuba diving.

Take as much math and science as possible. In particular, take calculus and physics in preparation for the freshman curriculum. Yes it does. The University Pathways helps students focus on their education path and university admissions requirements. This is 17 year long courses in English, Math, Science. Social Studies, and Foreign Language. The College Pathways helps students focus on their career path. This includes one course each year in the same technical area. Our goal is that each students having done this will have a marketable skill be able to make more than an entry level income right out of high school.

To enter into the field of Aerospace Engineering, it is advised that you should take as many courses as possible in science and mathematics, along with courses in English and Communications. An Engineer needs to be able to use physics and mathematics to solve problems, and needs to be able to communicate complex ideas or plans clearly and accurately.
