Pearl Jam formed in late 1990 after the demise of Seattle singer Andrew Wood which broke up his band, Mother Love Bone of which Ament and Gossard were members.

Stuart and Dominic met at a Ned's Atomic Dustbin gig in Glasgow in 199? when they were 15 and four years after that, the band formed and Martin joined as the drummer. They played a gig or two before Mr. John Cummings was added to the ranks. A while after that, before the recording of Mogwai Young Team, a temporary member with the name of Brendan O'Hare (ex-Teenage Fanclub, Macrocosmica) joined for the duration of the album before parting ways.

He realized he liked it better and stuck with it. At the time he was using a Gibson Explorer, but later changed to his well known ESP Explorers.

They named themselves "Britny Fox" because Dean had a family tree from Wales, Great Britain and one of his relatives was named Brittney Fox.

Delirious? started out as the house band for a youth event called 'Cutting Edge' in 1992. In those days the band were just known as the Cutting Edge band. By 1995 the band's lineup was complete and in 1996 they decided to give up their day jobs and go full time as a band. It was then that Delirious? was born. See the Biography for the full story.

They wanted to be something "Trio" because they didn't know many bands that were, so as with all previous bands they used the dictionary and this time didn't even get past the A's and picked Alkaline. They became the Alkaline Trio.

Jim Adkins, guitar and lead vocals. Tom Linton, guitar and back up vocals. (Tom sometimes sings lead.) Rick Burch, bass. Zach Lind, drums. A fellow by the name of Mitch Porter played bass before Rick, but left the band in 1994 for personal reasons. The band formed in 1993. Zach and Jim knew eachother since pre-school. Rick and Tom knew each other since 7th grade. In high school, Zach met Tom, and after Mitch left the band, Rick was in and the rest is history.

John O'Donnell and John Watson had both written for Rolling Stone and had now both moved into the music industry. O'Donnell had just set-up a small sub-label of Sony Music Australia called Murmur Records, named after O'Donnell's favorite REM album. Watson was working A&R for Sony, which included discovering and signing new talents. O'Donnell convinced Watson to go see this new band that had just won this national demo competition and that he felt had the potential for hitting big.

Way, way back in time, when they asked Cliff to join the band, he said he wouldn't unless they moved to where he lived (SF), so they did. The move was in 1983.

while he (Nick) was on tour with Tears For Fears, he heard that Genesis were looking for a new drummer. He sent in a copy of Giraffe's Lamb (Giraffe was a project Nick worked on with Keivn Gilbert) Progfest '94 show, his contributions to the Genesis/Yes tribute albums (on Magna Carta Records), and a couple of weeks later we received a call from Nick Davis and they flew him down to London for an audition.."

He quit because he had different ideas about the band's future than Alex and Geddy did, and he just wasn't excited about playing in Rush any more. His diabetes were also a strong argument against extended tours. John's still around. I see John quite often. He gave up playing shortly after he left the band and went into bodybuilding.

During the sessions for The Wall, Richard Wright was basically forced out of Pink Floyd. One story holds that Waters had even gone so far as to threaten to destroy all the working tapes if Wright didn't leave. Another quotes David Gilmour as saying that Wright wasn't contributing much of anything, and hadn't been for a couple years, partially due to something of "a bad cocaine habit." He did play with the band on The Wall tour, but not as a full member of the band.

It began as an inside joke (the original lineup contained three women named Susan; see the lineup notes below) and stuck. The band viewed the name as something of an albatross toward the end of the band's career, and Robert has said at least once that if he could go back and begin with a different name, he would.

I left because of disagreements that would never have gotten resolved. I felt that it was best for the band and myself for me to depart.

Some say that they were breaking up since the first day they were together...pressures following up Hotel California built up to the boiling point while recording The Long Run. It was nobody's fault and everyone's fault. They broke up in 80, but didn't announce it until 1982.

Sami (Vänskä) was the bassist for Nightwish from 1998 to early 2002, at which point Marco (Hietala) joined. There were personal reasons which only the band knows, but we know that Tuomas and Sami had problems agreeing on things. Tuomas speaks about this on the 'End of Innocence' DVD.

The Rumors Band was founded in 1985. The band started out as a side project and appeared Wednesday afternoons at Chastain's in Oklahoma City. All of the band members were playing in other bands at the time. However, within just a couple of months Rumors became a full-time project.

Zach used to work at an auto dealership. Everyone in the band had odd jobs up until early 2001. We will put more up on this topic soon.

None of the former band member ever gave a clear explanation for the split in public, but it had to do with a lot of arguing during the last tours and different musical ideas.
