Related QuestionsEViews doesn't appear to have a built-in constant for Pi. How can I use Pi in my calculations?
FAQ: Working with DataWhile EViews does not supply a built-in constant or SCALAR object for Pi, there are several internal functions which may be used to compute Pi. One easy way to get Pi is to use the @ASIN function. If you need to use Pi in your calculations, we recommend that you generate a SCALAR containing the value of Pi, which you can then use in all of your expressions. For example, if you type at the EViews command line, EViews will create a SCALAR object PI, containing the value 3.14159..

Related QuestionsMy TaxControls component is taking too long to do the calculations. What's wrong?
Payroll Withholding SoftwareThe only real bottleneck which is likely to slow down your component is loading the tables from the file. Once you've created a TaxControls component and loaded the data, you should take care to leave that object "alive". Any property or method which needs the table in order to execute will cause the table to be loaded (such as "TaxAmount", "Version", "Taxes", "Refresh", etc.) We recommend that you use the "TaxAmount" method rather than the "ComputeTax" method unless absolutely necessary.

Java PDF ViewerAssuming it is not a bug, it may be that there is not enough memory to handle the image. This can be particularly true with pages which contain large CCITT images - these are stored in the PDF as 1 bit images but need to be converted to 24 bit color by JPedal. Memory can be increased by starting the program with the -Xmx option. An example would be java -Xmx128M -cp .... which allocates 128 Megabytes to the heap for Java's usage.

Related QuestionsQ Aren't your calculations of PEGs very dependent on brokers' forecasts which are often wrong?
Global Investor : Jim SlaterA In spite of the problems, I prefer to know brokers' forecasts rather than fly blind. PEGs only work for growth shares with a proven past record. This provides extra comfort as do my other selection criteria such as strong cash flow, high relative strength and the absence of substantial directors' selling. It is the combination of these factors that on average provides such exceptional results.
