You may leave your cake out one hour before, during and one hour after your party. Leftovers should be refrigerated. During the hotter months of the year, you should try to refrigerate your cake as much as possible. If you have fresh fruit fillings or whipped cream frosting, we suggest leaving your cake out no longer than one hour at a time.

For Madeira/Sponge type cakes you can ice it straight away. Avoid leaving for more than 24 hours or, when cutting, you may find the icing separates from the marzipan. For Royal Iced cakes, leave 24 hours but not much longer as, again, when cut, the icing may separate.*

To prepare an unfrosted cake for freezing, wrap in plastic food wrap, aluminum foil or place in a resealable plastic freezer bag. To prepare a frosted cake for freezing, place cake in freezer until frozen. Then wrap as directed above. Occasionally, moisture from the frosting may dampen the top of the cake which is why we recommend freezing cakes unfrosted. Hint: Buttercream frostings freeze better than fluffy frostings as buttercream holds its shape better.

The classic recipe for a pound cake includes 1 pound each of butter, sugar, eggs and flour. It is a thick, dense moist cake. It really depends on alot of variables as to how long it takes a piercing will take to shrink to the point that reinsertng jewelry is problematic. In general, the following factors will tend to decrease the amount of time that you can safely leave the jewelry out of your piercing: The larger the actual length of the piercing itself, the shorter the time it can be safely left without jewelry.

My dog has a large wire crate that we put up to her doggy door, she can either be inside where it's cool in her bed or in the backyard. We have a large back yard.
