The main modes are Holomatch, Team Holomatch, and Capture the Flag. Within these modes there will be several modifiers: One Flag - There is one flag in the center of the map rather than one at each base. The object is to take that flag and run it into the other team's base to score points. Action Hero - One player is chosen to be Action Hero and as such gets a full complement of weaponry and regenerative health. Players try to kill the Action hero and in doing so become the new action hero.

Star Trek Elite Force II features a broad variety of different environments. Besides the Borg Sphere and Starfleet Academy at the beginning of the game, the Hazard Team visits desert and ice planets, as well as deadly swamps. There is also one low-gravity mission, where Munro finds himself on the hull of the Enterprise and has to fight off attacking enemies. Naturally, the game also features portions of the U.S.S.

Raven Software was the studio that developed the first Elite Force game. Raven was approached to do Elite Force II, but they turned it down as they were already doing Jedi Knight II and Soldier of Fortune II at the time and could not take on another project.

The Fact Files contain sections with general and planet information, Starfleet (ships), alien ships, characters, equipment, episode guide and an A-Z encyclopedia.
