A : Your Net-ID card only shows your first name, age, gender, and region. No contact information is displayed. This allows your to prove your age and gender online, without having to disclose any information that could allow someone to contact you in the real world.

A : You can exchange your Net-ID with other verified users anywhere you communicate online. If you want to exchange your Net-ID with someone; you simply ask for their NetIDme nickname, login to your profile, & create a unique link, that you can either send by email, or paste it into a chatroom, or IM window. The person can then click on the link.

A : Your Net-ID is encrypted, and can only be unlocked on the NetIDme website which is secured with SSL. Only the person you want to view your Net-ID can unlock it, as they must enter their nickname and password to do so. NetIDme reduces the risk of being targeted by Internet predators or bullies by providing you with a tool to identify who you are chatting to online. In addition to using your Net-ID, you should never give out any personally identifiable information online.

A : Premium account users can display a small button (Net-ID Seal) on any personal webpages that accept html code. When website visitors click on the button, they are able to view your Net-ID card. You can choose to allow everyone to view your Net-ID, or limit it to other NetIDme users only. (They must enter their nickname and password in order to view your Net-ID).

A - The Associated Student Body offers an ASB Student ID Card. This card is plastic and displays a photo of the student, as well as personal information. It may be used as a secondary form of identification, and to receive discounts on campus, in the community and on the web. The card is $5 and is valid for the entire school year.
