iPanel Wireless is a proxyless browser. It does not require a proxy server to render web pages. However, it does support proxy-based Internet access as required by some network operators. In the pull-down menu, select "Options", "Proxy Settings" and then check the box of "Use Proxy Server", fill in the URL and port number of the proxy server.

Depending on whether you're running the eBLVD Host or Client software (the Client software is used to connect to a PC running the Host software), you can set up our remote control products to work with your proxy server. These ports must be open in order for SLmail to send and receive email using the SMTP and POP3 Protocols. If you have SLmail installed on a server that is located behind a firewall, you need to ensure that these ports are accessible. When using a Proxy Server, all SMTP servers and POP clients on the Internet must be configured to contact the Proxy Server computer through the appropriate port in order to communicate with the SLmail server.

When connecting to my mail server over SSL I get an exception like "unable to find valid certification path to requested target".

The software appliance can be configured to work with HTTP 1.1 standards compliant proxy servers which support the HTTP CONNECT method for tunneling SSL connections. Thanks to Peter Prade and Michail Jones we have finally managed to find an initial solution for the proxy problem. The idea here is to allow users to choose their proxy configuration, and provide it to them on a semi-permanent basis. How does a caller find its proxy server? Calls typically proceed directly to the callee's domain. For example, when calling alice@example.com the INVITE request would be sent to the SIP server for the domain example.com found via DNS. Web technology, by itself, does not yet recognize handles. Therefore, if you put a handle into a web browser, nothing will happen; the system will not know what to do with it. Netscape 4.x crashes on the Macintosh (but only on the Macintosh) when configured to use the proxy server. The cause for this seems to be an unpublished limitation on the size of the proxy server automatic configuration script in the Macintosh implementation of Netscape 4.x.
