Many faculty find it a great aid to have a computer in the classroom, especially for presentations and Internet access. The computers in the Smart Classrooms were intended as basic, standardized devices which would provide a web browser and the standard suite of campus software. In this configuration they are able to support most faculty needs. Unfortunately, it is not feasible for us to maintain each individual Smart Classroom computer with its own independent set of software.

Absolutely, we strive to make a software package that fits your needs. Your input is important to us and we will attempt to incorporate all requests into the program. All requests are reviewed and approved if feasible. All requests can be submitted from our Enhancement Page

You can post the request to the newsgroup or send an email to recipes@swcp.com. We compile the requests into a list of requests which is posted each day.

Contact clusters@brandeis.edu with any request to install new software on Shiffman Computer Classroom computers. Installation requests must be made at last one week in advance, and preferably two weeks in advance. Please bear in mind that if your software needs to be purchased or licensed, funding will need to be secured before software can be installed.

Departments can complete a TNS Network Service Request online. TNS will do a site survey and determine the optimum locations for public wireless access and install service as available funding permits. Departments wishing to arrange for wireless service in department-controlled classroom space or public areas should complete the online form.

All faculty and Staff with a csuchico email address have a personal folder automatically created for them on the Bay shared file server. From your office computer, Windows users can access this folder by going to My Computer and opening Drive U. Drive U connects to the Bay file server in the following location: where <init> is the first initial of your Outlook login username and <userid> is your full Outlook userid.

Any BC faculty or staff person may request a classroom booking. Some of the classrooms, however, are used for specific disciplines, so those disciplines would take precedence for a semester booking. As an example, O’Neill 246 is for reserved for the Communications department.

Your department needs to submit a Request for Services form. The request will be reviewed by Room Scheduling.

During the budget process a coordinating report should be submitted to the Access Control department specifying the room number.

Because of the number of requests we receive daily, our donations are limited to non-profit, charitable organizations that benefit the communities in which we serve. Your local Fire Station is open to the public to visit everyday. Should you want to make an appointment for a group visit, please call the local station or call Fire Prevention at 377-7525 for assistance. Keep in mind that there are times when an appointment can not be kept due to the Fire Company being called to an emergency.

A visit to your local library and a review of your state's open records law is a good place to start. Generally an open records request is made to the agency you believe holds the records you want. Log a request with the helpdesk to request software. This request will be assigned to your system administrator. They will get in touch with you and set up a time to install your software. Include the node name and task number in the request for chargebacks.
