The IWG will continue to coordinate agency activities associated with dioxin. The IWG will continue to assess the need for additional dioxin risk management activities across the Federal government based on the findings of the reassessment.

One of the provisions of the Executive Order established an Interagency Working Group (IWG) on environmental justice chaired by the EPA Administrator and comprised of the heads of eleven departments/agencies and several White House offices.

The Interagency Coordinating Group for Adult Literacy (ICG) is comprised of 14 federal agencies (see ‘Member Agencies’ page) with the shared goal of coordinating federal adult education & literacy efforts across the 14 agencies. The ICG is expanding literacy services to adult learners across the Untied States by leveraging federal investments in literacy across programs.

The ICG for Adult Literacy was formed in December 2005 in response to preliminary findings from the National Assessment of Adult Literacy (NAAL). A Special Interest Group is a sanctioned group that meets under the auspices of HL7 but is not authorized to write and ballot draft chapters. A Technical Committee, often called a "chapter committee" is the basic specification-writing entity in HL7. We do not recommend dioxin testing. Tests for measuring dioxin levels in humans are not routinely available. Laboratories that offer dioxin testing generally are not certified for that testing (as is required for clinical laboratories doing medical testing). Furthermore, their detection levels may not be low enough to detect dioxin levels that occur in the general population.
