The Library has extensive materials related to St. Louis history, Missouri history, the history of the American West, genealogy and family history, neighborhood histories, urban history, Native American ethnology, letters, diaries, and works by St. Louis authors.

Scott Memorial Library is a major resource for the Jefferson community. The Library was one of the first in the nation to be fully computerized, with access to MEDLINE, MICROMEDEX, and other online database systems, as well as an online catalog of Jefferson’s book collection. The library’s periodical collection includes a number of nursing journals. Inter-library loan is available, as are copy machines.

The IRBs main concern is the protection of human participants. Therefore, we are concerned about recruitment methods, study procedures as it relates to the participants, confidentiality, the consent procedure, and the benefits of the study to the participants and to generalizable knowledge (risk-benefit ratio). The Library has some printed scholarship resources located in the Reference Collection and there are also some links listed on the Library's Internet Reference web page. The Shasta College Career/Transfer Center (Administration Building - Room 126), has a large collection of information about scholarships.

The Library is happy to receive requests in a variety of formats as long as adequate information is provided, e.g. reading lists, individual suggestion cards, marked up publisher catalogues and flyers, e-mails etc. A formal suggestion card (available from the Enquiry Desk) is only really necessary if you wish to reserve the item you are suggesting, or receive written notification of its arrival.

The institute has a well-stocked air-conditioned library with a large collection of textbooks and reference books. Apart from books, students have access to the latest magazines, international journals, newspapers and research papers. The library also stocks a huge collection of educational cd-roms and old copies of important periodicals. A new air conditioned library with 20,000-sqft floor space is under construction.

The ASC library has information about all African countries but the emphasis is on Africa south of the Sahara. The collection focuses on socioeconomic, political and constitutional developments. There is also a wide selection of books devoted to anthropology, sociology, law, religion, philosophy, linguistics, literature, art, womenâ??s studies, education and history.

The Library has an Inter-library loan facility through which we can borrow books from other libraries. Likewise there is also a document delivery service, which allows us to acquire journal articles and other documents for our clients. When necessary we will request permission from other libraries for our clients to use their facilities.

SportsPort aggregates sports information from dozens of sporting and fantasy gaming websites, saving fantasy players a significant amount of time in making their weekly gaming decisions, as well as in tracking their status relative to friends & competitors. SportsPort features sports headlines, game schedules, analysis, and player news, including statistics, injuries, and player notes.

All of the campus libraries of LIU are included in the computer, so make sure the book you want is here at C.W. Post. It may also be in one of the departments (rather than the circulating stacks), checked out, or on reserve.

Generally we don't purchase college textbooks. The Instructional Media Center has a collection of K-12 textbooks.

The OSU Libraries own approximately 6 million volumes, and subscribe to approximately 35,000 serial titles.

Telephones: Telephones are not available for public use in the library. A campus telephone is located in the lobby. Payphones are located in Reynolds or outside of Malloy. Fax Machines: A public fax machine is located in Reynolds. The library does not have fax machines for public use. Scanners: Public scanners are located in the 24 hour lab. (OneCard required for entry.) Additionally, a scanner is connected to workstation #15.

Through exchange with libraries in this country and abroad, gifts, materials received from local, state and federal agencies as well as foreign governments, purchase, and copyright deposits. Materials are added to the collections of the Library at a rate of 10,000 items per working day. Selection officers review materials and decide which should be kept and added to the permanent collections.

Some 500,000 requests are received annually by the Congressional Research Service (CRS), the part of the Library that serves Congress. Staffed by specialists on a wide variety of topics, CRS supplies Congress with unbiased information on a wide variety of subjects. Another department of the Library that works closely with Congress is the Law Library. With collections in foreign, international and comparative law, it serves as the foreign law research arm of Congress.

With a staff of more than 4,000, the Library serves about one million readers and visitors annually. Children as well as adults are welcome on escorted Library tours.
