Although many instructional accommodations can be transferred into classroom tests, some should NOT be transferred into the testing situation. For example, during reading instruction, an appropriate accommodation might be to read along with the student, or perhaps have the student follow along as someone reads to him or her. When the student is taking a reading test that is designed to assess decoding skills, then the read-along accommodation is not appropriate.

Any available office or room can be used if students just need extended time, distraction-reduced environment, or enlarged exams. Please discuss accommodations with students to make sure that all needs are being met.

The largest collection of videos for classroom use is maintained by University Technology Services. You can search their collection of over 4,000 videos by logging into their Media Library. The Sullivant Library has a collection of videos that can be used for classroom purposes. Most of these are classic movies and filmed plays, but there are some documentaries as well. Digital videos are available in the OhioLINK Digital Video Collection and can be downloaded or streamed.

We do encourage patients to bring previous tests they have undergone for the Physicians to review; however, depending on the symptoms presented the Physicians may or may not be able to use existing lab work.

Brain tissue samples are required for testing; thus, there are no live animal tests. The IHC test is considered the definitive test but must be conducted in national laboratories and may take a week or more to complete. Rapid tests called ELISA tests (which can be done within 24 hours) have been approved as screening tests. The ELISA test will report negative or inconclusive results, with inclusive samples immediately sent to a national laboratory for further testing.

Yes, there are many companies, schools, colleges, and institutions using the software in exactly that capacity. The most effective formula we have seen thus far is when the program is first played over a digital overhead projector, and the students are then allowed to take the training program individually to learn at their own pace and then take test on their own.

We believe that no medium is better than an experienced instructor. We have an excellent training room that seats 12 people, equipped with laser projector. This is where most of the lectures are held. If for any reason if a student misses a lecture, he/she can take it later, as all of the lectures are available as Digital-Video files on the local servers. Each exercise in the courses is also available as Lotus ScreenCAM video which a student can watch as many times as he/she wishes.

The law doesn't require classes to be offered in any language other than English. However, classes may be offered in other languages as long as instructors teach key English phrases such as "I have a handgun" and "May I see your concealed handgun license?"

BRAIN GYM® is used in classrooms around the world. The movements are often done as a whole group activity before, during, or after school. A skilled teacher can also identify individual students as candidates to benefit from specific movements. Radon levels within a building often change on a day-to-day basis. Highest indoor levels are often found during the heating season. Weather conditions, operation of furnaces and fireplaces, and opening/closing of windows and doors are among the factors that cause these patterns. Short-term test kits are the quickest way to test. These kits should remain in the building from two to 90 days, depending on the device. Testing must be conducted for at least 48 hours.

The level of discomfort varies with the activity of the disease. For most people, both barium enema and sigmoidoscopy entail some discomfort, but little pain. The first sign that you may have a viral hepatitis infection is from your blood work (since the chronic stage is often, but not always, without symptoms). A persistently elevated level of liver enzymes can indicate a number of possibilities and is very important to follow up with appropriate testing. Don=t forget that many of these markers can be increased significantly after drinking alcohol (and for days thereafter) or as a result of using certain drugs.

Approach your instructor privately during the office hour or at an agreed upon time. Let your instructor know that you have a disability which requires accommodation. You do not need to share with them the diagnosis.
