Many digital cameras, especially those that are rated at 2+ megapixels, allow you to select from a choice of image resolutions. Posterposter.biz recommends that you always use the highest resolution setting that your digital camera allows if you plan to make prints. Similarly, many digital cameras also allow you to choose the amount of JPEG compression. The compression levels are frequently listed as Normal or Basic, Fine, and Superfine (or sometimes High Quality).

We recommend you set the quality to atleast 640x480 or higher. This will ensure that your prints are developed with the best results.

There are several options available to you. You can try and borrow a digital camera from a friend or use a scanner to upload the photographs. If you experience problems with loading the photographs via the computer you can either e-mail or post them to us and we will upload the photos for you.

Take a picture with the digital camera. (Refer to the digital camera user's manual for instructions.) Open your Imagine Pro software. Go to Open from Scanner/Camera under the File menu, or click the Open from Scanner/Camera icon on the toolbar. The Imagine Pro software has now accessed the digital camera software within Imagine Pro Refer to the digital camera user's manual to import the digitized photo. The image you just imported appears on the screen as a new project.

It depends. Are you going to view images on a computer monitor? If so you will only need 1024 x 768 or about 3/4 of a Megapixel. Are you going to print the images? If so, how big and at what resolution. To print an 8x10 at a good resolution, you will need at least 3 Megapixels. Fortunately, most all digital cameras today have resolution at this level. What if your camera has more than three megapixels? You may want to dial back the resolution to make the files smaller and more managable.

Some digital cameras will let you know what the image resolution is, while others will tell you what the pixel dimensions of your image are. If you know what the pixel dimensions of your images are either from the camera itself or through the image editing software, you can do a little math to determine the resolution, and the size you can print the image at for clear and crisp printing.

You want to have your camera set on the highest resolution possible. This will ensure the best results when we print your digital images

Many new digital cameras offer several different settings for applying sharpening to images in-camera. Which one should you use? If you have a sophisticated image editing program, you should use the lowest possible sharpening setting. Why? The correct amount of sharpening to apply will depend upon the dispay method used for the image (printing, LCD, CRT, etc.) as well as the final size of the image and the content of the image itself.

The main issue is the camera's flash. The flash location is fixed on all point-and-shoot digital cameras. It is impossible for a flash that is located in a single position to properly illuminate all of the types of photographs that are taken in a dental office. One way to visualize this fact is to think of a 35mm dental camera that uses a point flash.

We would suggest that every school needs a digital camera. The quality continues to increase as prices head down. Very good models can be had for under $700.

Some cameras are designed for this, so you should check your manual. It's rare to find this feature in high quality digital cameras, but lower quality multifunction cameras with CMOS sensors sometimes offer this. See, for example, AipTek. If your camera doesn't already support some webcam features, you may still be able to do it if you have a video capture card (or USB device) of some kind, by connecting the video out from your camera to the video in on your PC.

The good news is, unless you are shooting close-up pictures of jewelry, you don't need an expensive camera to take good product shots. If you are shooting pictures for use on websites and not for print, you can get a good camera for less than $200. The quality of your images is going to depend much less on the sophistication of your camera and much more on your lighting and how well you operate the camera.

Consult your digital camera's user manual to determine if it has the ability to take and produce the types of prints you desire. Check your user manual for instructions about settings to ensure the proper resolution; features vary from camera to camera.

A – Ideally the image would be medium (approx. 500 KB) to high resolution (800 KB or higher). We find that low resolution images are just not good enough. We want to be able to pass these photos on to the loved ones of South Africa’s war dead and the last thing we want to do is send them a poor quality shot.

CopyCam has approximately the resolution of a 3.5-megapixel digital camera across the whiteboard surface. Yes! A Microsoft Windows application is provided on the CD-ROM that allows you to create a floppy diskette that CopyCam can read. You can change all one-time settings by using such a floppy diskette. In order to protect your LAN security, CopyCam cannot send any information to the Internet without you explicitly telling it to do so.

The High resolution is 640 x 480 pixels; the Medium is 320 x 240 pixels; and the Low is 160 x 120 pixels.

The maximum picture resolution will vary based on the mobile phone type. Please refer to the phone's user guide for information on adjusting the resolution.

How much resolution is enough? (When should I stop caring if they add more resolution to new models?)

There are many camera specs that are important to the end user, including size, resolution, sensitivity, frame rate, ease-of-use, cost etc. Different camera technologies often excel at different applications. Probably, but depending upon your camera's support for standard external flashes, it may require some persistence and some workarounds:

Many manufacturers offer proprietary lithium ion battery systems with their cameras. These are very sophisticated batteries with very long life. Sony's Infolithium battery system is perhaps the best example of this technology. In addition to offering very long life, this system can give an accurate measurement of the amount of operating time left on a charge. The negative side of lithium ion battery systems is that these proprietary systems tend to be very expensive.

The features that make a good camera for product photography are not necessarily the features that are important for other types of photography like portraits or everyday family photos. That's not to say that the camera you choose for product photography won't work well for other uses, but you may weight the relative importance of the various features differently.

Camcorders can only be checked out for school projects with permission from the Audio-Visual Supervisor. Currently there are no digital cameras to check out. Tape recorders are for building use only. Any good still camera with S-Video will be okay. You will also need a video card with the S-Video / Composite input (for example Radeon 9200) or a USB adapter(for example Belkin F5U208).
