The JPEG file format is a lossy compression scheme. Lossy compression actually throws away some of the original pixels of the image in order to compress the size of the image. You might not be aware that each time you save a JPEG file, it gets re-compressed. This means that every time you save your JPEG image, the resolution gets blurrier and blurrier.

This depends upon a number of factors including the focal length, the steadiness of your hands, and vibrations caused by the mechanical parts of your camera, e.g., mirror slap in SLRs. If your lens has a (35 mm equivalent) focal length of X mm, then a good rule of thumb is to shoot at 1/X or faster. Small movements of the camera shift the image more at long focal lengths.

This is a very common question and nine out of ten times it's the same scenario: people taking shots indoors without the flash.

If you are using AOL and your photos appear to be fuzzy or out-of-focus, you may have a default setting turned on that will compress the images you view online. To turn this setting off: 1) From the Menu at the top, select Settings and then Preferences, 2) Click on Internet Properties WWW, 3) Select the Web Graphics Tab located at the top of this window, 4) Select "Never compress graphics" and 5) Hit "OK"

The Oregon Humane Society is thrilled to have the technology to post photos of all the animals available for adoption as soon as they become available. Some of the photos are taken on arrival to the shelter. These photos may not be the highest quality nor show off the animal very well. However, OHS is very lucky to have a team of excellent volunteer photographers who spend hours at the shelter every day taking quality photos of the animals.

Some versions of AOL are set to drastically compress photos. It's easy to change. Click the "Settings" button on the task bar, and choose "Internet (Web) Options from the menu. The first screen that comes up says is about "AOL Topspeed" and asks if you want to compress graphics. Click "never compress graphics" and you've changed the setting. We've found it only very minimally affects the processing speed and we leave it at this setting all the time.

Focal laser treatment of diabetic macular edema is best performed before central vision is affected. Once the center of the macula is swollen, laser often results in some improvement, but the vision may be permanently impaired to some degree. This is why regular retinal exams are important. Additionally, poor blood flow (ischemia) in the macula often damages the vision. There is no treatment for macular ischemia.

For timer shots, many cameras, focus when you press shutter button, not when the timer goes off. Thus, the camera focuses on whatever is in the center of the frame when you press the shutter and will fail to focus on you after you've moved into position in the center of the frame. The workaround is to point the camera at something else which is roughly the same distance from where you plan to be after you move into position.

Most likely you have your graphics setting set for compression applied. This essentially recompresses graphics that are already compressed. Sometimes the outcome makes graphics look quite blurry. If you are using an AOL browser window, you can fix this problem by resetting your graphics preferences. Just go to AOL Keyword: preferences... Choose WWW preferences... Choose the Graphics tab and turn compression off.

Some signals had been duplicated and relayed many times. The broadcasters copy each other. The resolution has already been lost.

The camera may have taken a picture before it stopped moving to its next view. But it can also be quite windy next to the river, so maybe the camera housing was shaken a bit. This is more noticeable during a zoomed shot.

Blurry images are often the result of movement during image capture. Either the camera was not held still ? a phenomenon called "camera shake" ? or the subject was moving and the camera did not fire with a fast enough shutter speed to freeze the action.

Stenciled designs that are not crisp usually mean that you are overloading your brush. Loading your brush with too much paint is by far the most common mistake that is made by both beginners and pros. Dip the tips of the bristles of your brush into the paint. Using a paper towel remove most of the paint from the brush by swirling the brush into the paper towel.

Hopefully your genealogy program exports links to photos into its GEDCOM. If so, then Version 1 should be able to display thumbnails of these photos, links to the full-size photos, with any information you have in your GEDCOM file about those photos. It depends. Your photos can be private or public, or you can choose to keep some of your photos private and some public, if you like. When you open a 23 account your default setting are set to private. The default setting can also be seen on your upload page where your privacy preferences are pre-selected in the upload form.
