While most 1Y students have undergraduate business degrees, the 1Y program is open to both undergraduate business majors and non-business majors. All candidates must have graduated within the last seven years and must have completed accounting and at least five of the following six courses: finance, marketing, operations, statistics, economics, and organizational behavior.

Yes, unless you are exempt, you must also take the exam that is part of the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) (formerly TASP) before enrollment, as must all students who attend a Texas college or university. Programs established with QZABs must have the goal of enhancing the academic curriculum, increasing graduation and employment rates, or better preparing students for college and the workforce. The school should work with its partner to design an academic program that will best meet these goals.

Students in the Three-Year MSW Program begin field placement in the second year of study. Students must fulfill the same field placement requirements as full-time students. Part-time students may reduce the number of hours they spend in the field each week to a minimum of 16 hours, by extending the total number of field placement weeks to 39. Students on this extended schedule are typically in the field from September through June the first year, and from August 1 through April the second year.

Yes. If a new catalog reveals changes to your major or minor curriculum that appeal to you, you may adopt the catalog in effect during the year in which you graduate. You can see a department advisor, or you can indicate your preference for the current catalog on your graduation application (e.g., on the "major" line, write "political science, current catalog").
