bunker.imaginator.com is a server grade Intel Motherboard with1.5GB RAM and 300GB of storage spread between 5 disks. It runs on 2 500MHz CPU's. Bunker is connected to an Efficient-Networks DSL router and then up to XO's business grade DSL service. Every evening I run a backup onto an HP Surestore 80.

pr0n currently runs on an Athlon 64 X2 3800+ with 4GB RAM and ordinary SATA disks. (The server does a lot of other stuff besides running pr0n, of course.) pr0n itself is a custom-made system by myself, tightly coupled into Apache 2.2, mod_perl 2.0 and ImageMagick 6.x (as well as various other Perl modules), using PostgreSQL 8.2 as the back-end database for metadata et al. The base operating system is Debian lenny (ie. â??testingâ??).

In addition to the hardware for the system under test (SUT), one or more client machines are required, as well as the network equipment to connect the clients to the SUT. The number and size of client machines required by the benchmark will depend on the injection rate to be applied to the workload.

The requirements for Sequencher are the same for PC and Macintosh computers, 150MB of free hard disk space and 512MB of memory.

i.Doc can be run on one computer or processing can be distributed over different servers. In small environments all i.Doc servers can be run on one computer, but system reliability and capacity can be improved significantly by adding one or more computers in the configuration. In the case of multiple server configuration there is a backup computer which takes over the processing in the case one computer is not available.

Quizilla run on a fairly large army of servers. Originally, it started out using one small underpowered computer in the founders basement, but has now grown into using a vast array of technology and hardware. Currently Quizilla runs on over 40 servers (as of September 1, 2005).

QNX is made by QNX Software Systems Limited, QSSL based in Ottawa, Canada QSSL is a medium sized rapidly growing company with about 150 employees, doing a rumored $24M/year in sales.

QNX pronounced like "queue nicks" is a commercial operating system that runs on intel processors, mainly the 386, 486, and Pentium, and their clones, such as MD, Nat Semiconductor, Cyrix, and SGS Thompson. The simple answer is that QNX is a realtime, microkernel, preemptive, prioritized, message passing, network distributed, multitasking, multiuser, fault tolerant operating system. This is a "true" microkernel, with the largest QNX kernel to date being less than 10K.

The design model for QNX 4 makes the support of SMP hardware somewhat complicated. For the moment QSSL is pushing VLAN designs for users who need the additional cpu cycles. VLAN solutions make use of an extremely fast lan connection such as a backplane connecting multiple cpu cards. Nothing prevents QNX from running on these processors as their main difference is the addition of some instructions.

iNTEARCT will run on any hardware that supports Linux OS or Windows 200x Server. iNTEARCT can be installed on any server running Linux or Windows 200x Server.

Intellipost over the years been designed to run on most hardware platforms including but not limited to DG Aviion, HP9000/300, HP9000/700, IBM RS6000, Intergraph, NEC (RISC), SGI, SUN Motorola, SUN SPARC, DEC ULTRIX, SUN SOLARIS, DEC ALPHA/OSF and PC.

Currently the Screaming Electron is running on intel class hardware. A small HP server to be exact running at a 1000mhz with 512 MB of ram and 2 18 gb 10,000 RPM SCSI drive mirrored via raidframe.

LDDMM currently runs on AIX 4 on a IBM RS/6000 SP, as well as on ItaniumII under linux. LDDMM has also runs on x86_64 architecture.

QNX's network works transparently because the Net process and its drivers extend message passing across the network. In the case of the file system, an I/O call to a file across the network is turned into a message to the Fsys on the node where the file is located. This feature extends to most system resources, and can be used by application processes equally as well. QNX supports all the standard forms of interprocess communication, such as pipes, queues, and signals.

This product was originally available under QNX 2. While it is no longer being promoted by QSSL, it is being actively supported, and improved upon by the third party that originally licensed to it QSSL, Basis Computer Systems Inc. In addition to providing improved replacements for QNX Window's Olwm and Olfm, an HTML viewer has been added. There is also a new picture editor which supplements Iedit, to add fonts, etc. to pictures.

Deployed applications will run on any operating system and hardware supported by your target Java EE application server. Today, Mainsoft's integration with the Visual Studio IDE level is supported for IBM WebSphere Application Server 6.0, 6.1; IBM WebSphere Portal 5.1 and 6.0; and Tomcat 5.5 (as a Web-container). Mainsoft will provide development support for additional application servers in the future.

Server requirements depend on many factors, such as number of users, frequency of commits and other server related operations, repository size, and the load generated by custom repository hooks. When using Apache, it is likely that Apache itself will be the biggest factor in memory usage. See this discussion on the mailing list for some concrete answers.
