Contact your professor, especially if you know you will be absent for several days. Otherwise, you can be dropped by your professor for too many absences. Call the professor at his/her office phone listed on your syllabus. If the professor is not in the office, leave a message by phone or e-mail clearly stating the reason for your absence and your name and social security number. You must be prepared to verify that you have contacted your professor and provide documentation of emergencies.

We suggest you are very careful in what you bring. It is easy to bring a lot more than you need. The more you have, the harder it is to keep up with the maintenance of it all. Bring all the personal items you need: towels, toiletry, clothes, bedding (we provide a mattress cover), etc. A small assortment of videos, games and other fun things are nice. We suggest you wait until you arrive so you know what your roommates will bring in the line of kitchen items.

Contact the Canadian Embassy nearest you for further information. As a school, we do not decide who needs a Visa and who doesn't. The Canadian government decides who needs a Visa to visit, study or work in Canada. Citizens of many countries do not need a Visa to come to Canada for stays of six months or less.
