When or if will Prog Organ support digital expression (volume or swell) control?

FAQ
Version 1 - the current free version - does not and will not. However it is already incorporated and working in Version 2 (yet to be released). Both the parallel port and MIDI keydesk input options can be used. For MIDI, a standard Continuous Controller 7 message is used. For the parallel port option, a block of 7 addresses has to be allocated to each swell control, enabling it to input a 7-bit "expression" word (0 to 127).

How easy is it to set up Prog Organ?

FAQ
This question is rather like how long is a piece of string, as it largely depends on how much experience you have with computers. There is also an issue related to setting up a keydesk so it will interface to your computer, and this requires some understanding of electronics. Personally I think Prog Organ is one of the simpler systems around in these respects, though it is easy for me to say this having designed it in the first place.

Will Prog Organ work under Windows Vista?

FAQ
You tell me! Does anybody really know what will and will not work under Vista? One could hope that it will be upwards compatible for all existing audio and music application programs, including Prog Organ, regardless of what new facilities Vista offers. On the other hand, it could be as cataclysmic as the change from Windows 98 to XP, when all the drivers for all devices had to be re-written.

Will the X-Fi sound card work with Prog Organ?

FAQ
I haven't tried it yet so cannot give any guidance derived from personal experience. However it appears to be fully SoundFont compatible, therefore it should work. In fact it seems to support the latest SoundFont version, also the latest version (2.4) of Vienna. If it doesn't work with Prog Organ it wouldn't work with a lot of other music apps either which use the same Windows API functions. That seems an unlikely scenario somehow.

FAQ (English) - Mumble
Mumble uses the default volume you have configured in your operating system. There is no support for amplifying incoming voices, and there probably will not be, as this will decrease audio quality, something we are very reluctant to do. We use the standard MS Speech API, and the included voices are not all that good. If you have installed either MS Office or the Speech SDK, you will get more voices which can be configured from the Speech control panel.

I just want a remote volume control, not source selection. Is there a way to do this?

Technical Support
All selection and level is done either on the front panel or at the remote; never both locations. Connecting just a VR 1 to the CP 64 or 52 remote control terminals will allow level adjustment. However without a source selector the unit will default to source one. If the PRIORITY / L4 INPUT automatic switching is enabled, then the unit will select the L4 signal when present and L1 at any other time.

This doesn't work on all radio options, but give it a shot: Turn the radio off then on again. Dont touch any button except the 'm' button - the button you use to tune the radio frequency manually. Press and hold the 'm' button for TEN seconds or until the display changes. IIRC, it shows the serial number of the unit.
