You probably have the extendedglob option set in which case ^ and # are metacharacters. ^a matches any file except one called a, so the line is interpreted as bindkey followed by a list of files. Quote the ^ with a backslash or put quotation marks around ^a.

When running in windowed mode or GDI-based fullscreen mode, XWin.exe must run the X Server at whatever display depth Windows is currently using; in these cases the display depth passed on the command line is ignored. XWin.exe only uses the display depth parameter when running in a DirectDraw-based fullscreen mode, as DirectDraw allows applications to change the display resolution and depth when running in fullscreen mode.

This has long been debated, however the reason for it is because spoken languages can, in certain circumstances, prevent communication: for example, when a sprite and a human meet and try to talk, only to find they do not share a common tongue - much the same as meeting someone in real life who didn't speak your language at all. In the past, some players would abuse the 'emote' command at an impasse, in order to communicate.

I am currently still investigating the cause of this problem. A common cause, however, appears to be with owners of SoundBlaster AWE32 and AWE64 cards, as well as more recent cards like the SB Live and the SB PCI 128. The best solution so far appears to be to run your SETUP program and verify your soundcard's settings. I also recommend disabling the Music Card setting here - D2_3DFX seems to not be able to handle music cards properly, unlike its unaccelerated counterpart.

A#4.6: There are two. The first is "-c arg", which is supposed to allow one to specify a script on the command line. This seems to be broken, though. The second one is "-f", which tells gsh not to parse its gshrc file, nor do other initialization tasks. Think of it as "fast startup". Based on who executes it, the Talk command can have different effects. Usually a ruler talking to a warrior will give +10 morale, while a ruler talking to a strategist or two warriors talking to each other will restore a tactic to each. This selects the operation of the Gate/Trigger Input - it can be used as a trigger, gate or be disabled. The chain of command works from a top down approach. Orders are given to armies by players through marshals or generals who then command captains and so on, eventually the orders are given to individual soldiers to be carried out. Battles in Strength & Honour can be fought by armies of over one hundred soldiers, the chain of command allows players to control large armies. However, as in real life, soldiers at the bottom of the chain may not always listen to instructions from their superiors.

When you enter and execute commands in a Maple worksheet, that information is stored in active memory as long as two things do NOT happen. When you close a Maple worksheet all information in RAM and swap memory is lost, but of course the material remains encoded in your worksheet. Similarly, when you issue the restart command in a Maple worksheet, Maple restarts the Maple session, and in particular removes all assignments from active memory.
