You may have an application that's not error-free; or (more likely) one which needs configuration for your site, computer platform, etc. If it's not a bug within the application it probably has to do with your compiler options. If it's indeed that, there are several possibilities. In the examples we'll give now, we'll be using some installation directories that may differ from your installation.

LessTif is a clone of the Motif® toolkit. Currently LessTif is partially implemented with most of the API in place. Saying this a lot of the internal functionality is still missing. A few Internet based individuals as listed in core.html. Nobody is paid to work on it, all is effort by volunteers. Look for an all-time list of authors in the AUTHORS file in the LessTif distribution, while CREDITS acknowledges the contributions of various other people. Keeping a list of developers for each widget is not really possible mainly because the we're not fanatic about ownership of a widget. We do keep in touch enough to know who's messing with what so we don't overlap too much.

Actually most LessTif widgets work somewhat. Many work fairly well. Things like traversal and focus handling have been worked on, but probably aren't really all that functional yet. The menu system is quickly losing its child diseases (occasionally freezing the X server with grabs). If you're not in a rush when working the menus, the odds are low that you'll get in much trouble. Also dragging in the menus will get you in trouble faster than clicking.

Debian uses the terminfo database and the ncurses library of terminal interface routes, rather than the termcap database and the termcap library. Users who are compiling programs that require some knowledge of the terminal interface should replace references to libtermcap with references to libncurses. To support binaries that have already been linked with the termcap library, and for which you do not have the source, Debian provides a package called termcap-compat.

Some old installations of Oracle Calendar cause the conduit installer to skip the screen that gives you the option of doing a complete or custom installation of synchronization conduits on your machine. Work around this issue when uninstalling and re-installing Oracle Calendar. Then run the conduit installer again.

I've rarely found the time to port Expect to alphas and betas. I recommend you stick with a production release unless you're willing to do some work.

A common mistake when starting the client is to give the wrong server host name. The last synergyc command line option (Unix) or the "Server Host Name" edit field (Windows) should be the host name (or IP address) of the server not the client's host name.

Maybe the Shockwave player is not working or it has not been installed correctly. You should check the page of the Macromedia website which deals with Shockwave installation problems (see URL below). There you can test your player to see if it is working and you can check which settings are required to use Shockwave with your system. If you are using Windows XP, you may have a problem connecting as XP has a built in Firewall that you will need to disable in order for our server to be able to connect to your computer. Click on the appropriate connection (Dial-up, LAN or High-Speed Internet connection) and then, under “Network Tasks”, click “Change settings of this connection”.

The broadcaster may be having difficulties with their transmitter - check other channels in your area. Ensure the antenna is pointing to the transmitter - even 'omni-directional' or 'multi-directional' antennas still need to be pointing in the general direction of the transmitter to be able to receive stations. Use www.antennaweb.org to find where to point your antenna, and also to find what channels are available in your area.

Unlike typical desktop installs of Debian, the SSH daemon is installed by default. However, sshd is not actually running unless you activate it, under Desktop -> Administration -> Services on the Gnome 'footprint' menu.

It is likely that you did not install the images to your hard drive when you installed the software. The instructions listed immediately above will tell you how to reinstall them if you wish to do so. With the CD ROM, you can view the pictures from the CD without actually installing them to your hard drive. You must have the CD in your CD drive in order for that to work, and also, you will need to make sure the VC.INI file correctly points to your CD ROM drive.

Probably you have installed FFDShow filter. It's a good one but there are some formats with experimental support in it, such as XVID. You should uncheck XVID item then.

If the same zip file is installed twice, by two users, the second one overwrites the first one. While the bits are the same (including LSID), the ownership and privacy are subject to change and may end up hiding it from the module's original installer if the second installer installs it as private. The same suite cannot be installed as a "private" suite for more than one user. If you install a private suite and do not see it, it may already be installed as a private suite by another user.

You have to have a project open in order to compile. You cannot start Quartus, open a file and tell it to compile. So be sure to always open your project (or create a new one) when you start Quartus.
