Type CMD and press the enter key. A plain black window with a prompt similar to “C:\>” should appear. Type IPCONFIG /ALL in the plain black window and press the enter key. Some information should appear. Look for a line with the word “IP Address.” To the right a number in four parts, divided by dots should appear. Write down the network address.

Stop the MediaMVP services. Click on Start, Programs (or All Programs), Hauppauge MediaMVP, and then Stop. Locate the My Computer icon on your desktop or in your Start menu. Right mouse button click on the My Computer icon and select Manage from the drop down menu. Click on the “+” sign next to the Services and Applications listing and then click on the Services sublisting. Locate and right mouse button click on the name MVPMedia and select Properties from the drop down menu.

If the remote computer is on a network, and SpyAnywhere is already installed, you can either access it externally from the network, or locally on the network. If you are on the same network, then just enter in http://workstation_name, or http://ip_address into your browser to view the computer. However, if you are outside of the network you will have to enable port forwarding on the network router to let you access the machine. Please see Question 7 above for more information on port forwarding.

Look at the back of the PC where the network cable connects to the PC, most cards will have lights that indicate that the connection is active.

Boot up at DOS. Execute the "LSL" from diskette and execute "RTSODI" from diskette. Check the messages that echo in screen. If that IRQ will conflict with other devices, then change the IRQ of PCI slot from "Auto" to "Fix"

If your company employs an MIS manager or systems administrator, and you are uncertain if the virus resides in your computer memory or on a floppy disk, leave your PC on and immediately notify them of a possible problem. They will be able to best evaluate how to proceed. If you suspect the virus is residing in your computer memory (RAM) and you are connected to a network, immediately turn off your computer and notify your MIS manager or systems administrator.

You will need to allow the Dynamic Trend Profile access to the Internet. Generally, when a new program tries to access the Internet on a PC that has a firewall on it, the firewall will ask if you would like to permit or deny it access. You will need to permit the Dynamic Trend Profile access to the Internet for it to work properly. After being prompted for access it may be necessary to restart the Dynamic Trend Profile so it can fully access the Internet.

The voting network collects information in a report about the file in question, such as the file name, and the action that you chose to take (to block or allow). When Windows Defender sends the report to the voting network it also sends standard computer information, such as your region and language setting. The voting network collects no personal information unless you opt in to advanced participation.

The pc is known to the world as statpc-001.stanford.edu. You should be able to refer to it like any other machine. However, remember that you cannot ftp to the workstation from another machine. You can ftp from the pc to other machines around the world. Please note that this PC died in early December 1998. The new computer lab has 21 PC's for the use of our department.

Only licensed software should be installed on your Queens University of Charlotte workstation. Installation of shareware and other software that are not essential to your job function is discouraged. Many installations can result in unwanted and even harmful code being installed on your computer. Results can be detrimental to the performance of your computer and to the network. If you are unsure about a package of software you wish to install please as IT Services.

Not easily. Once upon a time there was a card called the "Ecolink" to do this. However, few were made, they weren't always completely reliable, and the drivers only work with MS-DOS 3.3. An Ecolink is probably not something you want to install, except for historical interest value. If all you want to do is be able to talk TCP/IP with machines on the Econet, you can use an Archimedes equipped with Econet and some other interface (Ethernet, serial line, ...) as a gateway.

The best way to determine which network you are on is to contact your Network Administrator. You can also look under Control Panel, Network. The lines beginning with Client will indicate which networks for which you are configured. The Primary Network Logon will indicate which is your primary network.

The network or wireless PC Card provided with the Air2Data kit is called a PCMCIA Card or PC Card. Almost all laptops have one or more PC Card slots. Some laptop manufacturers place a plastic cover over these slots. Often you must remove the plastic cover by using the adjacent eject button or latch. You'll have to make just two connections to connect your desktop computer to the ParkWiFi system. Time4You allows to export your records and statistics in Comma Separated Values (CSV) file. Time4You exports CSV files into two Pocket PC folders: Business and Personal. If your Pocket PC is connected via the ActiveSync program with Desktop PC, you can easily find these folders by using Windows Explorer. On the above figure, you can see that export file 20050622.cvs will be saved into your Personal folder.
