High school juniors and seniors are welcome to apply to our College Experience Program and start earning college credit while experiencing college life first-hand. Credit is given on a per school basis. In the fall after program, Broadreach will provide you with a transcript, as well as a letter detailing the MBA course curriculum for your high school administrator. Most schools accept the credit after reviewing this "MBA Course Packet". Each academic institution has its own requirements, however, so we can't guarantee your school will accept the credit. No. However, course credit and/or placement in an accelerated program in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry is occasionally granted as deemed appropriate by the department faculty. Such credit will be determined by written examination. The awarding of Caltech course credit takes place at the time of registration each fall.

The usual mathematics sequence at the advanced high school, and beginning college level, takes students through courses designed for the pursuit of science and engineering, leading to topics that are motivated almost entirely by the subject's applicability to "real-world" problems. While SUMaC recognizes applicability as an added bonus in most areas of pure mathematics, our topics are selected independently of concern for these applications.
