If you are transferring to a Tennessee Board of Regents institution, then you are assured that your credits from Motlow will transfer. However, if you are transferring to an institution outside the Tennessee Board of Regents System, we advise that you check with that institution regarding the credits that you will want to transfer to them.

MCPHS prefers transfer applicants to complete prerequisite coursework at four-year colleges or universities. Courses must be comparable to those in the pre-professional phase of the specific program to which the candidate is applying in order for transfer credit to be awarded. Comparability is determined by the Office of Admission in collaboration with the Office of the Registrar, school deans, program directors, and faculty.

The State of Florida uses a common course numbering system, and OWC is part of this system. Through common course numbering the course numbers are the same at all Florida public colleges and universities. Therefore college credit courses are more easily transferable.

Remedial courses do not transfer, nor do credits earned as credit-by-exam at other institutions. College-equivalent-credit is not transferable, nor are most credits earned on the basis of articulation agreements between colleges and their local agencies and industries. Aside from these exceptions, almost all satisfactorily completed course work taken at regionally accredited higher education institutions is transferable.

Charter Oak has a liberal credit transfer policy. We will accept most credits that have been successfully completed at other regionally accredited institutions. It is possible to transfer up to 6 credits of previously completed graduate coursework; however, this is a rare occurrence. The courses are designed to support each other and the students go through the program sequentially in a cohort (together). In order for a course to be acceptable for transfer, the student would have to demonstrate that equivalent content was covered. This is determined through petition on a case-by-case basis.

Graduate courses taken at AIIAS or at another recognized or accredited institution (including a graduate-level correspondence program) may be transferred to an AIIAS program if the credit meets all of the following conditions: The credits would be accepted at the institution at which they were taken as credit toward an advanced degree. We will accept college-level academic course work from regionally accredited two- or four-year college or university. We will evaluate credits from colleges outside the United States on an individual basis. We accept credit for Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), and some kinds of credit by examination if those examinations are administered by another college. In general, courses numbered 100 and above are transferable to other institutions. However, the application of credit toward a degree program is determined by the institution that you are transferring to and the academic units of that institution.

The North Central Association of Colleges and Schools regionally accredits Prescott College. As such, credits from Prescott College are fully transferable to other colleges and universities, though each institution has its own guidelines for accepting transfer work in general. The Registrar’s Office is available to communicate with any college or university that needs clarification of the narrative transcript or any ungraded credits.

Students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or another community college should meet with an advisor or counselor early in their program to become aware of the appropriate courses to take to transfer.  Recommended transfer patterns for many majors at Maryland four-year colleges are available in the transfer areas at each campus.

Applying early has its benefits. The Admissions Office processes our application and "clears" you to register. The benefit is that you can either be advised or register for classes without standing in long lines. And, of course, you can register online. The beauty of the community college is open-door admission. Until the term starts, you can register for classes as long as you have completed all admissions requirements.

Answer: For students in the MS program only, you may, with our department’s approval, transfer up to six graduate credits from an accredited American university; courses would need to be evaluated by the department. Courses must have been taken within the last five years. Evaluation of courses would not be done until you have been accepted (matriculated) into our MS program. Students in the Advanced Certificate program may not transfer credits.

Generally yes, particularly if you complete an entire AA or AS degree program. There are two types of courses related to transfer--courses that are part of the ColoradoGuaranteed State Transfer Curriculum, and those that are part of our AA/AS degree programs, transferable on a program-by-program and case by case basis.
