For educational purposes, no. The norms established by Dr Lefebure after more than 35 years of experiments shows that a 75 watts bulb is perfectly adequate to trigger the needed neurological reactions. That type of light is too weak to harm the eye if it is used at a distance of at least 1.50 meters. At that distance there is no heat diffusion that can bother the eyes. The dazzling brightness of car headlights is a lot more harmful than the light generated by the Phosphenic Lamp.

Recent studies show that light therapy can be helpful year-round for people who experience chronic depression, unpredictable recurrent depression, or bipolar depression, and the method has been effectively tested in patients using medication and even electroconvulsive therapy. The addition of light therapy to the regimen must be under doctor’s supervision.

Several capacitors were studied during the development of NightStar. NightStar currently uses a 1-Farad, 5.5V capacitor. A capacitor with an energy storage capability 3 times greater than this is also available (3.3-Farad, 5.5V). However, it would require 3 times longer to fully charge this capacitor. To use a compact fluorescent bulb on a dimmer switch, you must buy a bulb that's specifically made to work with dimmers (check the package). GE makes a dimming compact fluorescent light bulb (called the Energy Smart Dimming Spirals®) that is specially designed for use with dimming switches. A float switch is a very useful device to control the liquid level in a tank. As the liquid level decreases, the float sinks and closes contacts that can be used to control the functions of a pump, such as stopping pump 1 and starting pump 2. With Keep-It you can just 'hit' New Snapshot, and all your current work is saved (snapped, recorded, maintained!). You will have to provide a light source above the sensors. There are many ways you could do this. The easiest way is to use an ordinary lamp. Sometimes the ceiling light provides enough light. Xenon lamps produce a cold and blue light, they run on high voltage. Xenon lamps can not be dimmed, but the output power can be reduced with an iris.

Light is, of course, one of the principal requirements for plant growth in a hydroponic system. Most cultivated plants need sunlight. However, when you grow plants indoors, artificial light is usually necessary. The intensity of the light that you are going to use must be high but make sure that it does not increase the temperature. Fluorescent lights offer indoor plants a type of light most similar to sunlight.

This is the question that comes in most frequently. Our advice: don't try... unless you're an electrical engineer who knows what she's doing. The high voltages needed can be dangerous. To change the bulb, power down the unit and open the bulb door. Rotate the handle on the module to the right, grasp the handle, and remove the bulb. Insert a new bulb module (Stryker part number 220-201-000) along the guide rails until it is fully seated on the mating connectors. Rotate the handle to the left to secure the bulb module within the light source. Close the bulb door and power on the unit.
